My fairlane's oil pressure gauge was in the red (high) for about 30,000KMs (and 3 oil changes) which i took as a faulty gauge or sender. I changed the oil yesterday (same oil as before) and now it seems to stay at around 2/3rds.

I dunno. I still have a suspicion that the sender is dickey.

How many kays? Mine used to do this untill l went up a few grades in oil. The thicker oil on my vct fixed pressure and quitened it down alot.

ok my olds gave me an au1 falcon forte, its done 400,000k and still runs sweet as. anyway i am upgrading everything slowly and i got an au1 fairmont dash and put it in with a new oil sensor. its always reads about 2 3rds of the was when driving and when its in idle its at about 1/4. it is normal for oil pressure to change when car is moving and not moving as you are doing less/ more revs
