If I bought a PS2 game from the States, to play on an unmodified PS2, does anyone know if it would work? or will the game be in Black and White.
Any help will be useful |

It won't work on an unmodified PS2 console. You'd need to get the console chipped for it to work, or buy PAL format games.
EDIT -> Actually I'm not even sure it'd work if the PS2 was chipped. I know you can play 'backed up' (copied) games - not sure about the PAL/NTSC thing though. |

i bought a dvd that did the same thing as a chip for like $20. Its a little annoying though. you put the disc in, eject it, then put in the U.S or copied disc, and it works. Was a few years ago though, not sure if they still do them.

It is not illegal. Do you think they would advertise in every paper with their addresses if it were illegal?
You will need a chip, or import games which are pretty cheap. Im pretty sure theres a chip where you dont need a boot disc now.

Yeah, the NTSC vs PAL thing is so annoying....just like different countries having different power plugs. Why can't the world just have a universal system as with PCs to save us a lot of trouble??
BTW my PS2 is from the US and I buy all my games from Amazon. They don't ship US PS2 games here but I have relos there to mail to and they just mail it to me. For some games, the US versions are better (as was the case with GTA San andreas) |

Think its like CD's. You can legally *backup* titles you already own, but to hire one out and burn it, or download and burn it is illegal. I may be wrong tho :p |
