Default New found ADSL slowness

Just wanting to know if anyone here is suffering slow ADSL since late October on AAPT in particular. I called AAPT to see what the drama was and they of course told me nothing was wrong. I see Optus customers have been suffering the same problem too. Anyone here having the same experience with AAPT at all?

Im with AAPT 512 connection and havent had any problems at all

I'd suggest calling AAPT. Being an ISP Tech Support myself these things are pretty easily fixed

Sometimes you can ring the ISP up and ask for the address to test the modem, it tests the speed and connection to see if it is that. You will have to tell them the model and brand if they do

They got me to download a dummy file and I told them the speed it was downloading. They said it was fine for 512 speed. However, my browsers on both the desktop and laptop time out over and over when loading up webpages. It never did this before. I have every type of scanner on both PCs, trojan, virus, span and spyware, but it affects both PCs and not one in particular which I figured would be a ISP thing.

What browsers you using? Give Opera and Firefox a go if you haven't already

Try this as well if you haven't already:
Clear out old cached files, then reduce the space for cache to about 10mb.

In internet explorer, Tools > Options

Delete the Files (inc offline content) then click settings next to it. Reduce space to 10mb

That normally fixes up relo's computers. See how that goes...

I'm on the AAPT 512k plan and its been fine. There was a day or two about 2 weeks ago where it was going quite slow though.

AAPT told me to clear the cache, and it didn't seem to make any difference in my application and I use firefox as well so it isn't browser specific. I've just reset my modem and it went through the setup CD again and now it seems all is fine so it has me beat what was wrong?

If the setup CD touches your computers networking settings in any way, chances are your network settings just needed a reset. Here at my ISP, we don't tell guys to "re-install drivers" there are some actual commands you can run :P

In any case, good to see you sorted it out. I notice u said you reset your modem. Resetting the modem and computer are the first two things I make sure the caller has done

Last week I lost connected to the internet, it ended up being some error somthing to do with the latest Norton antivirus turning windows update on or changing some of the modem settings. I had to reset my modem too, plus re-enter some passwords and it worked fine
