Default Frankstons a great place NOT

I hate to attend a meeting today for work. I was in Frankston for a whole hour and someone attempted to break into my EL. They've broke the lock and now you can use anything to lock/unlock the car :(

And to think, it used to be a Holiday Resort in 1948. At least, that's what they said in Crackerjack!

It's not a good area, no.

Somebody broke into our XF years ago. But those things were easy to break into. Fart on the lock and it opened.

BL on your car. Hope you never have to go through this again.

I remember when I used to live down that way (I actually lived in Cranbourne), when Mum said we were going to Frankston, I used to get excited.

Last time I was down there (2000), I couldn't believe how much it had turned into a hell hole.

Yup bad luck. Can't even figure out why someone would want to steal it. There's nothing worth stealing in it. The cars 99% as it came from the factory. I leave nothing in the car either.

I know it's going to cost me around $240 to fix though :(

Hey I grew up there. In Frankston North of all places. Biggest craphole in Aus. Here's a tip, using a coping saw blade you can clean out the parking meters and play double dragon all day. Not that I would have done such a thing, I was a good child. ;)

Bummer on the car...

I live in Frankston too, have to say most of the CBD is a bit of a hole, I did park my car at the TAFE there for 2 years and nothing happened to it, so not all bad. Believe it or not there are some areas where it's not too bad to live

yer bad luck i think you'll find that cars get broken into in many suburbs not just frankston ;) , the place isnt too bad, its just a few people from around there, take a look at frankston south to frankston north, next to each other but worlds apart as far as value is concerned. You may say im crazy but with the 30 million dollar marina going ahead, and millions latly spent on shopping centres in frankston, etc the place is the gate to the peninsula and in the near future will be worth as much if not more than surrounding areas. ;)

Nah but here's another Frankston tip, the hairdresser at the top end of beach street would give a special service if you asked for a specific style of hair cut. Ah, good ole franga town.

I'm getting way off topic now huh.

It's called Davoren Park, and the name was changed from Elizabeth west about 10yrs ago to lift the image.
Only problem!
The image is still lying in the gutter waiting to be lifted.

To see if anything in it to take to cah convertors.
To get a free ride home.

I've lived in Frankston my whole life and worked there the five out of the last six years. It can be bad, but saying its all bad wouldn't be true.

Its just a humble little fishing village that's expanded beyond its means!

I live about 30 minutes drive away from Frankston but its still too close....I reckon its a hole. Wait another 15 years though and things could change as property prices go up and force the ferals out.

Sorry to hear your car got busted into, glad to hear you still have it.

My old car got broken into twice in 6 months when I lived in yuppie ville Prahran,

Someone else I know got broken into and they hotwired his car in McDolands car park in Prahran in broad daylight. The only reason they didn't get away with it is because you had to crank the thing over 20 gazzilion times before it would start because it was on straight LPG....they must have thought it had an imobiliser....

hehehe. I would have prefered the car was taken not just wrecked the lock. I hate my EL it's a crapper that continually keeps me broke. It's only $240 to sort the lock which conincidentally had only been used maybe 20 times since 1997, keyless entry is great. The excess for insurance is higher than the repair cost so I'll just fix it. Locksmiths have me by the short and curlies too. Can't cut much out of the cost of repair if I remove/fit the lock either. They'll end up fitting it as the discount for me doing is SFA and not worth the hassle.

I'm about to convert the car to LPG too. I would prefer to just buy another car that has LPG but don't have the extra cash :

Well excuse me. We don't call them Cash Converters in Frankston, we call them Crime Converters thankyou very much.

Frankston is not that bad, I mean how many suburbs have 4 pubs on one intersection (including a nudie bar) that are only 3 minutes walk from the beach? Endless Summer fun I reckon.

Sorry about the badluck Brenx but there is car crime in every postcode, not just 3199.

It's the 2nd place in 10 years I've had a car of mine broken into.

1st one Berwick (1980 HZ Kingswood)
2nd Frankston (97 EL Falcon) coincidentally it has an alarm.

Lived in Cranbourne 8 going onto 9 years. No-ones desperate to look at a stock Falcon. I'm in Dandenong regularly too due to work. Never had a problem.

Frankstons not exactly known just for it's beaches. Just like Dandenong really. Your more likely to get bashed in Dandenong than have your car stolen.
