What i want to do is quite simple, if enough people are interested.
All it is, is a challenge between the FPV GT and Typhoon on Gran Turismo 4, to see what car can set the fastest lap time around a designated track. You run the time on your game, then report what the time was, and what you ran the car with(Mods/Traction control/ASM) If enough people are interested in this, i will organise/run the comp. All it will involve, is you choose a car(Or you can run both). We can have standard or fully tuned cars. Then see who/what car can post the quickest time around a certain track. If there is enough interest then it will be organised. Cheers PS. if you are in, start voting for tracks. I would prefer not to run on Nurburgring because of the long laps. The tracks i will vote for is either, motorland or El captian. |

I'm in.....
Suggest having 2 classes - Stock and Modified 2 cars plus 2 classes = 4 options Stock = exactly that with driving aids being the only things you can fiddle with. That way you can run it on arcade mode.... Modified = Anything goes ...bigger, better, faster, more. Obviously this is going to rely on an honour system as far as mods in Stock class is concerned. Pics of times achieved are optional.... If Nurmburgring is out then I vote for Grand Valley, El Capitain & New York, Deep Forest. These are tracks which are challenging to drive well and good technique gives good lap times. |

I like Midland, El Captian is a good mix too. Anything other than the 'ring though, CBF'ed.

I'm in for sure, i'd like to do it around nurburgring too but if it's not that then any other track will be fine.

My personal favourites are:
el capitan - good, quick changes of altitude which are good for stuffing over novice drivers Midfield raceway - held a record of 53 seconds on this track, unbeaten by anyone i know trial mountain - the ultimate track. Quick corners, good passing opportunities, the only problem with a time trial is that people will ride the wall at the end of the back straight, and people will go through the grass leading onto the main straight Any one of those is perfect, as Nurburgring is too long and boring - who wants to stuff up something and be around for another 8-9 mins to set a **** lap time : |

the f6 is a very unforgiving car to drive and you really have to drive it viscously to get most out of it but what lets it down is the brakes esp on tsukuba
49.78 on tsukuba so far pics and replay video will come when im happy with the performance

I raced two courses, with completly stock cars(no nos) this is what i got so far:
Arcade/ time trial mode, stock cars F6 Tsukutba Circut 1"03.047 GT Tsukutba Circut 1"02.577 F6 Deep Forest Raceway 1"25.849 GT Deep Forest Raceway 1"25.495 I raced in timetrial mode, no upgrades on the cars. Used auto, with sports soft tyres and didnt fiddle around with the settings. I drove of course in A-spec mode and did a couple of laps with each car. The F6 feels heaps better during the turns, doesnt get any traction but you do have to keep a presured pace all the time. The GT on the other hand has a little bit of wheel spin and takes corners a little bit more hardier than the typhoon. But the GT beats the F6 in corner exit speed by far which makes the difference. If you can figure how to exit properly with the GT it actuall produces better turns than the F6, eventhough its handling is pretty stiff. Drive the typhoon first then the GT, and you will know what i mean. Anyway have a crack at stock GT's and F6 and see what you get. And please dont cheat it just makes the whole point of this time trial thing pointless. cheers |

these are my contributions for the modded f6 going full ball nitrous and everything. 48.5x's possible but not much more imo

The way i want to run it is stock and modded classes. Mixing the GT and typhoon together. Sticky sounds like a good idea.
Heres the votes so far El Captain........4 Seattle...........4 Tsukuba..........4 Midfield...........3 Grand Vally......2 Trial Mountain..2 Apricot Hill ......2 Motor Land......1 New York.........1 Deep Forest......1 Cheers |

i say settle on 2 or 3 tracks to give some variety ie if someone dont like el captain they can race seatle etc. also if the tracks selected was variety ie not 2 or 3 ultra long fast tracks.
tsukuba and midfield mix offers low and high speed tracks on race track not street.

Have a look at the motorland track. It's a hard track to master. 35s lap times. not very fast speeds(top 180), tight corners.
Inregard to the typhoon vs gt. I found with a fully modded car the gt was easier to drive fast. Calm, predictable. Where as the typhoon was a bit of an animal at the limit. Cheers |
