Im thinking about putting a K&N air filter in my EL. I have heard that the pod must be inside the box, and i have also seen a stainless steel cover that goes over your pod, are these legal??
Thanks, Cameron. |

Depends on the application.
I use a K&N Flat panel filter with a Tickford snorkel in my EL for that reason, I don't want it sucking in hot air, which is less dense than cold air. But I have a pod on my MR2, as its designed to draw air from underneath the car, up through the (mid-mounted) engine bay, and out through the vents in the engine lid. So having a pod filter is fine, as there is a constant stream of cool air cycling through the engine bay. However, if you were to undertake some extra plumbing in the Falcon and put the pod down near the radiator where it would cop plenty of cool air, then it would be fine.
