We went and saw cars yesterday. Most will know about this movie already but for those who dont it is the latest pixar creation making it a very polished animated adventure story.
As I said the animation was very polished and impressive. The characters at the beginning dont shine too strong in my books and I found myself wondering early on if this was the setting for the movie or if the main character was going to move on or not. But as the movie progressed the characters get fleshed out some more. Still, I thought the characters in this movie were not as strong as in Pixar's previous movies. This may have something to do with the characters being cars and not human or roughly human looking. The sound from this movie is great and I love the sound of the main character starting up. All in all a solid Pixar flick but I just left the theatre thinking it was maybe weaker than the other Pixar films. Maybe the storylines are mostly the same so its beginning to look the same for me. As usual most of the audience left right when the credits started rolling and missed the standard entertaining Pixar credits so I would stay seated and enjoy. Id like to know what you thought about it. Bear in mind some may read this who havent seen it but ive included a spoiler title.

Pixar make good movies, I've enjoyed the last movies they did, except nemo so I'll probably go see it, probably end up being better than toyko drift.

My 5 year old has his birthday shortly. So we are heading out then to see it. Really looking forward to this one. Pixar are fantastic and can't wait to see their latest animation.

I took my kids ( 2&4 ) Yesterday and it was the first time my 2yo has been to the movies .. I gave him his toy of matter and mcqueen sat him on his seat and all through the movie i keept looking at him and he was laughing away and holding up his toys and says things like " going fast " "raceing cars " " Thats my car " stuff like that .. For my kid that dont talk a lot he was so happy to watch the movie and even in the car after he was still talking about it and he seems to remember sceens from the movie and still says them " you put a scratch on my scratch "
GREAT movie for the kids and big kids like me as well . If you dont have kids then take your neice/nephew just so you can see it .... Its worth it |

Its more than just a kids movie. There are one liners that would most definately go way over a lot of even the "older" kids heads.
Filmore: [looking at a stoplight] I'm tellin' ya, man, each blink is slower. Doc Hudson: The '60s were not that good to you, were they? Doc Hudson: All rise. [Ramone lifts himself up ten feet in the air] Luigi: Show-off. Darrell Cartrip: Ooh, my oil pressure's through the roof right now... IF THIS GETS ANY MORE EXCITING THEY'RE GONNA HAVE TO TOW ME OUTTA THE BOOTH. The hippie V dub combie that has makes his own "organic" fuel. Reference to Jimmy Hendrix's infamous Star Spangled Banner, and a shot in the ars* spoof of the fast and furious. Sure its animated, but if you look and listen closely it has hidden gags. Regards Paul

Thats why PIXAR has established itself the number 1 animated film creators.
The colours and characters appeal to the kids, whilst the humour appeals to the older crowds. Its a top flick, and whats always fun to do is watch the film and see the little bits and pieces from other films put in. "Lightyear" Blimp/Tyres - Buzz "Lightyear" from Toy Story etc.. The animated shorts at the beginning of the film are always top notch too!! And yes, stay for the end credits people..

My favorite bit was when M. Schumacher the Ferrari and his Maserati mates rock up to the tyre shop at the end....the reaction of the Italian shop owners was priceless LOL!!!

That was a great movie. The FTF club saw it last night. There were hidden messages if you will, but gee it was great. Even the credits were great with "cars" version of other pixar films like cars inc instead of monsters inc, car storey instead of toy storey.

Saw it with my brother and sister, was a good movie, great engine noises etc.
There are many adult type jokes in it, but most pixar films have them. Definitely the best character was mater, loved that dude lol. Good film to go with the kid's. Won't dissapoint |

very impressed with the movie.
stand out points: the F&F spoof... the multi winged car was just hillarious. sound samples were fantastic Monster Trucks Inc, A Bug's Life and Toy Car Story certainly got some big laughs too ;)

I saw it on Sunday and loved it. The cameos with Arnie as a Hummer (naturally) and Schumi were pretty good. My fave was Mater though (as in Toh-Mater, with out the Toh). Like he said, I'm happier than a tornado in a trailer park!

Sorry to dig this up.
I saw it last night and it was pretty good, but not quite as funny as Nemo and others IMO. As others have said, there is alot of humour for older people which is probably so they dont find it to boring; which is a great Pixtar triat. My fav bits were: 1. the ricers, LOL @ that rear wing! 2. when the Ferarri and the two Maserati's came to the tyre store Luigi and Guido (sp?) were the funniest characters by far. My only issue was the romantic relationship between Mcqeen and the Porchse (Sally?) went for waaay to long. The scenes when he is stuck in the town seemed to go forever and to be honest I was getting a bit bored. Lots of little touches that made it good though, even the marbles on the race tracks. But overall its pretty cool, and that short before and after was a cracker...might have to search limewire for them... Oh, BTW, is McQueen a Viper?
