well i would hope a ford gt can beat a wrx, if it couldn't there'd be some problems.
that's like comparing the XR8 to a nissan micra. hmmm actually the micra might have a chance.

Incredible. Speechless...

ClevlndStemer - did you watch the clip? It did a bit more than 'beat' the wrx ;) The WRX looked that slow you'd think it was a Hyundai Excel with it's handbrake on!

I'm not as computer literate as a lot of you guys ... so why is it that when I try to watch these clips the action goes in stop start mode?
i.e. The film runs for a couple of seconds, then freezes for a few seconds and then goes for another couple of seconds. It's like the software is trying to catch up with the action.

Pedro, as it is downloding the video it is playing it, i.e streaming. just wait a couple of minutes to let it download then play, so just hit pause and it will download enough for you t watch it.

Thanks ClevlndStemer, I tried what you said and it does go for longer sections. But it seems I would have to wait quite a few minutes to get it to run through continuously. I'm on ADSL.

a TT GT
That's the same car, or at least the same owner, both are called Joe.
Coincidence???.....probably not.

With 600+ rwhp, not much is going to stand up to it!!!!

BTW, those STi's are still fairly quick little units.

Alaways one....... :togo:

It was not an official comparison, two people with fast cars went for a drive togethor, if you want a real comparison check this GT smashing everything in it's path, including WRX with nitrous and blown mustang.

Some stock GT test results : Against cars worth two to three times it's price.

Quote:
A recent test by Automobile magazine showed the GT hitting 60 mph from a standstill in a mere 3.8 seconds, quicker than a Lamborghini Murcielago and Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren also tested, and just a fraction of a blink behind the 3.6-second blast of the Porsche Carrera GT. The Ford hit 205 mph in the test. The Lambo managed 203. The Benz and Porsche touched 206. The other cars are two to three times the price of the Ford GT.

"Not bad for a bunch of dumb Americans," grins O.J. "John" Coletti, leader of Ford GT development. He retired from Ford Jan. 1.

i made a simple comparison in that a 150k+ essential race machine (mid engine) with a s/c 5.4 v8 with 600 or so hp should have no trouble against a 2.0l 4 turbo.

What an awesome machine, the GT that is. I’m not a fan of WRX’s so it’s good to see one put in it’s place. They’re only a try hard boy racer that sound like a strangled fart anyway. I’d like to see how the Gixxer would go against one of those rice burners with someone who actually knows how to ride one. Maybe this clown should invest in some leathers too.

yeah, it was a review of two cars they had available to them at the time i guess, no real competition, different leagues. Personally i think the wrx did ing well in the last minute or so, held the lead til i'm guessing what would have been about 150km/h+ then the GT took off like a bullet. I recall being a passenger inside a 99 wrx (brand new at the time) with 4 of us in it, some dude in a 300zx tt pulled up wanting a burn. Our wrx nailed it on the start but as soon as it hit about 80-100 the 300 had much longer legs. Wrx is a rally car, agile, capable of speed but more aimed at agility, and it does it ing well.

It's a wonder those guys haven't been nailed for that footage yet ;p

Nice.

Ok I admit, I love seeing Supercharged V8s blowing the doors off Turbo 4s.

Just goes to show that no car, is immune from getting it's *** kicked.
