I fell in love with a beautiful old Ford. A '28 Model A, belonging to my uncle Tu/Des. He's a big Ford man, and when I got into the V8 Supercars the choice was easy. Seems I had good timing too, I started watching at the beginning of the season before last.

Im an other. My last name is Ford, so when it came to buy a car, I couldnt really buy a Holden. My parents, and their parent drive Fords, and because I was in their cars all the time, I realised what a good car really was, so I bought a Ford and have never looked back.

I am not a big fan of ford.
I am a fan for making them better.I like improving them because it is my hobby and the sky is the limit.

Both my parents (mother and father) were huge ford fans (still are). Mainly my mothers influence though.

Well i had a Holden HT Premier ,Loved that car back in "86" ,went through a few jap cars then purchased my TE Cortina 6, 3.3 Lt ,converted it to 4.1 ,worked it and Loved it but I've always Followed Ford for as long as i can remember .They don't have Holdens in England ,and i always hated Vaxhall's back in the early days.
When I came to OZ in 83 and my new Friends asked me who do I follow ,and not knowing what a Holden was at thee age of 15 i said FORD ! Fords I've have owned TE Cortina XE Fairmont EF Future Wagon AU I XR6 VCT AU II XR8 Rebel Focus ST170 My daughter follows Ford ,Oldest son don't care ,6yr old did love the K-Mart cat but now it's gone he follows Ford. O and my wife tryed to drive a Holden SU6 once and said there is no way she would ever buy a holden ,and rattled off a few reasons. |

Grew up with the old man restoring fords. Travelled in a mint ZA fairlane with no rear seatbelts for the first 15years of my life. Helped dad restore his 69muzzy over 6years while i was growing up. I also fell in love with the XY GT. Our whole family and now most of my mates are ford nuts.

My dad's first car was an XA GT coupe. I never saw it but I heard all the stories about it. I also loved all the old GTs, so I was pretty set to become a Ford fan, but the defining moment was when Ford released the EL and their "New Faces of Ford" advertising. All of a sudden I was seeing all of these ELs (and I was actually noticing EFs as well, and I could see how different they were from Mum and Dad's EBII). I loved the look of the EF/EL so I started following them more and more. From there I started to take interest in other Fords as well, so that is my story of becoming a Ford fan.

Two factors made me like Fords
1. The BA XR series. Fell in love with this car and I knew I was going to buy one. 2. How much more Ford does for Australia in terms of manufacturing and design than what Holden does. |

Well im not exactly a "Diehard Ford" fan but I do like them alot more then I used to when I was younger.
Probably because the majority of my family own or have owned Fords and because I went for a drive in my uncle's BA XR8 the first day he got it. |

When I was 10 in 1997 going to pickles government auction, and seeing how much better the EF was better than the VR, how it sounded better, looked better, it felt more chunky and solid than the VR. My parents were intent on getting a Camry or Commodore, but on the final "Going" call I pleaded to place a bid. We drove out 30 mins later in an Argon Silver EF which I drive now. First thing I remember about it is the torque at 80 - 120.

I started off liking jap cars coz basically thats what all my mates at the time liked (I wanted a Lancer GSR, i admit i still like them). When people asked if I was a Ford or Holden man I'd say Ford, because my brother and dad both had a Ford, they weren't really Ford fans though, my dads EL was nothing but problems and he now drives a Magna VRX and my brother ended up selling his EA for an AU and started to like cars a lot more and now he has a BA. But it really came along when I was walking home from school and saw an EL Ghia that was always parked there, but the day I actually took the time to look in the interior, thats when I said "I want that!" and I've been a Ford fan ever since.

I had two Commodore Calais in a row (VN and VS) ... heaps of Cr*p ... Don't know why I got the second one... must be a masochist. Both were unreliable, heaps of problems and handling was scary (even with high priced Michelin tyres).
Went looking for a Verada wagon for TBH and tripped over a EDXR6 wagon in a caryard... was ordered to buy it by my sons.... I obeyed... loved the performance and handling. EDXR - goes great, feels solid, handles well, never a problem in the 7 years we've had it.... Calais !... PTUEY !!!! Got an AU XR6VCT soon after, had it 3 yrs, and, when the lease on that expired got the AUIII XR8 I have currently.... will probably keep it .... altough the GT looks attractive. Have driven VTs and other newer models and that has just re-confirmed my happiness with the XRs (although I do like the look of the Monaro). Added bonus:- I buy Australian. Holden...forget it.... most design and manuf is overseas. Mitsubishi ... appear to do more locally than Holden. Ford.... support local talent and design/make most parts locally

Over the years my family/relatives have owned at one time or another just about every model Falcon from XR onwards to BA. I just had to make my contribution too.
Have owned and XD351 (my first and best), an EF Futura and now an XH XR8 ute. Would love to have a BA XR6 turbo. Maybe my next car!!! |

When i was a kid the highway patrol cars where 2 door xcs I would sit at the speed trap in my town and watch them take off after the speedsters.Loved the noise of the 4barrels fully open, other than that every kid at school was holden so i wanted to be different.
