Does nothing for me. Maybe if i were into the hotrod, classic cars etc i might apreciate it more... Dont get me wrong i can appreciate the craftsmanship and amount of work etc that would have gone into the car, but it just doesnt float my boat.

Additionally, it was only done to get people to the Holden stand; in order to gloss over the fact that they aint got anything all that new and exciting. Holden are masters at this spin without substance garbage.

Holden Desginers "So, we have to make a car. Anyoen got any original idea? No? Me neither. Well, lets get a 57 Studebaker, chop the roof, put some crap mags on it and call it a Holden? Agreed? That'll show thos ford boys!"

Of course we would be biased... it's a ford forum
Having said that ... at least Holden go to the trouble of putting something interesting there to see. People complain about the lack of substance at the Ford stand but also bag Holden for doing something about it. If Ford don't want to spend the money.. perhaps they could get race cars from bygone eras to put up there.. something different to what you can see in a new car yard anyway. |

I still believe given their situation that it was a bad decision to make this car reguardless of whether it looks good or not.
Having said that it's better than what Ford offered, although it wouldn't take much |

There is one good thing about this concept. No matter how hard the pro-Holden media try they will never be able to find any jutification to push the 'Is Holden going to build it?" line they used for most of the previous concept cars.

The FJ inspired concept car and the 'Holden means a great deal to Australia' campaign are designed to regenerate the "Australia's Own" image into the Australian public's minds. This is a vital campaign for Holden as the company will become less Australian in the coming years. As perception is more important than reality, as long as people are of the belief that Holden is still Australian they won't pay too much attention to the fact that it isn't. FF |

Well look at where Holdens concepts have got them... :hihi:
With Ford, it's clear we are not seeing anything exciting from them at the moment but i'd rather they focus on getting this new BF falcon selling well and not blowing money on one-off concepts. This new concept is nothing new, I'd be more excited to see something that points to it's future aka VE... |

Atleast Holden are willing to put some cash on the line, come up with something radical, whack their name on it and show it. That WILL appeal to the younguns out there. Something Ford lags very badly behind Holden in is their marketing and their methods of securing their future client base. They would rather just produce cars and hope this is enough to convince people of all ages to buy their cars at some stage. Ford could learn a great deal from Holden.

I like the thing, it looks very radical and over the top.
But like any business, If they spend all this money, the customer is the one who will ultimatly pay for the experiment. and already we know of the shortcuts in materials placed in production cars (thinner glass, sheetmetal guage etc) as they have to do this as they cant overprice thier product in the market. In saying this, what about that little crysler coupe/wagon they rebirthed for concept and ended up selling millions based on an old design. Still wanna see another ford coupe built for production now the monaro goin out ????

Seen it at the SMS and do not like it. There is obviously many hours of work on the car, but it just doesn't do it for me.

Bloody nice car and nice marketing ploy. Get the Grandads telling their grandkids how they used to drive the old Aussie Holdens and later the Grandkids will be wanting to drive Holdens as well.
I used to remember when Motor Shows were more than a New Caryard and actually had concept cars in them... |

I can't believe the ridiculous amount of bias on this forum. I'm as blue blooded as anyone here, but just because the thing wears a Holden badge doesn't mean you have to bag it. The car is stunning, and I only wish Ford would do something as creative and awesome as this.

All you knockers, get your heads out of the sand.
This car is bloody awesome, Ford would never have the balls to build something like this. It's going to be big on the custom car show circuit, i cant wait to see it in the flesh.
