where do i start?
: well a few months ago we got a new production manager, new as in 'our area of the factory' new. since then its been one damn thing after another. my other half got a month off work because she didnt answer her phone one day at home and he didnt like her message bank, union did squat as usual. a few other things have happened that i wont go into but today just tops it all off. i was ready to belt this tool myself as i have a severe disliking for him since his been stuffing us around. TODAY the dimwit comes up and tells me that i have to shave off my Goatee or to not come to work at all. ive been in the Dairy Manufacturing business for over 5 years now and it has always been accepted that if you wear a beard mask (which i do) you can have a goatee. wow you might say, just shave it off...well no. ive had a goatee since i was 15 and i dont see that i should have to shave it off to make some tool happy. to make my point heres a few industry rules regarding hair. you MUST wear a hair net - even if your head is shaven completely BALD, but you do not need to wear a beard mask if you have a clean shaven face. if you have a beard/goatee you MUST wear a beard mask, if you have a moe only, you do not need to wear one. you must wear sanitry gloves when directly handling food product, but you dont have to wear long sleeve shirts to stop your arm hair from falling in the food. so in conclusion: beard/goatee hair CAN fallout moe hair CANNOT fall out arm hair CANNOT fall out eyebrow hair CANNOT fall out clean shaven FACE with no hair - hair CANNOT fall out clean shaven HEAD with no hair - hair CAN fall out. so as you can see its pretty stupid how things are regulated in the industry. i know everyone doesnt want hair in their food and thats fine and having a goatee covered by a beardmask ISNT going to let hair into the product either. still havent decided if im going to work tomorrow. considering that I am the only one left that can do my job (theres 2 more people - 1 will be at the footy - the other is working doing another job that no one else knows how to do) so im thinking it might be a 'stick it up your boss' Saturday :thebirds: well thats my rant anyway. : anyone do knee capping around here? :monkes: ALSO: anyone wanna give me a new job.....yes im being serious. With regards to the union, this is something that they can prove and enforce - the telephone call message bank is something that they can't. Get them on your side- thats what you pay union fees for.

As I always say. There is always some c@@3head to cause conflict. If you dont go to work and dont go back there is always some other turd waiting around the corner to tick you off.
So be thankfull for what youve got and dont let him be the winner by not going to work.If you dont go he wins.!!!

Hygine / food preparation rules are there for a reason IMHO
Hair on head = Hairnet Bald / shaven head = no hairnet Beard and moe or moe only = beard mask No beard or moe = no beard mask As well as long sleves and gloves to be worn and it should cover both sexes equally That is my 2c worth and this new boss sounds like a wannabe management **** licker trying to score big points with the big chiefs A bit off topic did any one watch Malcolm in the middle when Hal was making pancakes with no shirt on and scratching his back with the spatula and Dewy was gaging on the hair in the pancakes he was eating - CLASSIC

I wouldnt go in tomorrow. Then it will come back on your supervisor / area manager / tool that you dislike.
He told you not to come in if you havent shaved off yout goatee, and if you decide to not shave it off you're just obeying instructions. It'll catch him out, and show what an *** he is to those above him.

the funny thing was though that he come and said to me that 'so and so' was asking why (my exact name here) is allowed to have a goatee yet no one else is (even though there are at least 40 other people who do).
its funny because i dont know 'so and so' and 'so and so' doesnt know me by face or name. he's gone out and asked about the policy just to **** me off. like i said 5 years and nothing has been said about it before! i even told him that not only the management, the company but also his useless self doesnt know their job from a rotten pile of sh^t if this hasnt been mentioned before. got the usual reply of "but its the company policy". i rest my case. |

I would tell that *** that I am going to grow my goatee so long Ill need a tailor made bagmask to keep it covered and if he wants to sack me over it ,to put it in writing then do it , then show him the letter I have written quoting the revelent rules and regulations and explain to him what a fool he is going to look like to his freinds ,family, Australia and managment when " Ray Martin" sends his dogs down to interveiw him for "A Current Affair" He would probably wet himself and offer to pay for my grooming which I would refuse and tell him to donate it to colon cancer research with his help they can they porobably get it licked. All the best mate ,dont take it , its unAustralian.

then ask to see it in WRITING on a COMPANY LETTERHEAD I'm Arvo shift... and I asked this of a Dayshift Manager when he told me I had to do something becuase it was "Company Policy".... He couldn't do it .... So I told him that I couldn't do what he wanted until he could provide me with the required document as I had never been made aware of this Policy in my Initial training when I started at the company and had never heard of it whilst in employment or through any subsequent training sessions... He was not a happy man :thebirds: |

Do NOT retaliate openly. If he has a boss then he will embellish your defiant gesture and use it against you. If he does not have a boss then you are dead anyway.
As others have stated above there is more than one way to kill an elephant. If he is genericly disliked by all the staff then constant complaints from EVERYBODY will make his life a misery. If on the other hand it is only YOU that has a problem with him and everyone else is ok, well basicly you are buggered. Sorry, but life is not always fair. Work hard, do your bit and maybe you will get promoted above him...... |

well i shaved it off last night. thought id 'get to him' other ways and let him think he has victory over me but the Tard didnt even come to work today. anyway, its kinda weird having a top lip and chin again after 12 years. keep getting hot/cold sensations and it feels like my lip is sweating (when infact its not) so ive been wiping it a fair bit today and gave myself a small rash : there are a few others as well in other sections that have been told the same thing so i am not alone on this one. ill think of something thatll make him look like the Tard he is : |

lol Warrnambool Sleeze
Picked that name up from our supplier rep. He has a name for all of the companies. Bonslack, Conlac, Fonlac - due to their recent takeover, (Bonlac) umm, U don' pay (U D P - United Dairy Power). There was a brilliant one for Nestle it was a group of words with their first letters spelling Nestle. I can't remember it now haha. When you think of a way to get back at hiim please tell us. sounds like he's feeling. PS if you can drive a truck Bonlac are down a driver :( |

Ah yes,
God bless Bonlac. I work in the printing industry that prints all the butter wraps and food grade stuff. We have to wear hair nets and all the rest of it as well.. Here is one for you davway: I was told off for pouring myself a cup of SPRING WATER from the dispenser and walking 2m to my work bench and drinking it.. Why? Because as part of the businesses HACCAP (food grade product manufacturing) policy you are NOT ALLOWED TO DRINK WATER OUT OF DESIGNATED WATER STATIONS. This is dead set serious and one of Bonlac's requests as it drinking water in a 'non designated' section may "contaminate the product." All we do is print the reels of paper! It's not like we make the bloody butter and drink water over it as it is being made! Its a stupid, over regulated industry. It really gets me when I go to Macca's and the pimple faced kids making the burgers have no hair nets, yet because we print the wrappers and bags we have to wear hair nets and the rest of it!! MADNESS P.S You should see some of the tossers we get in management who enforce these STUPID rules. They think they are so high and mighty and above you. I know exactly how you feel mate. Hang in there and you will find they will be gone in a year or two. (Very funny cycle to watch trust me!) |

I'm not in a union thank Christ, but I tell my boss to go and Get F...ed on a regular basis. He doesn't dare sack me cos I am indispensable. LOL. Seriously though, I think it doesn't hurt to tell you boss where to go, because at least you might get a bit more respect and he knows where he stands with you.
