Default Brain Teasers......

Ok, whilst having morning tea around the water cooler this morning one of my colleagues gave us a brain teaser which led me to think that this would not be a bad thread to post.
So if you have any, let them rip here.
Ok here is the question:

Q. What comes once in a minute, twice in a moment but never in a thousand years?

Ok.. I've got one...

There's a mother and daughter, father and son, trainer and a tiger on one side of a raging rapid river. There are no bridges and its impossible to swim accross, its too fast, and there are sharks in the water that will eat you if you do.

They want to get accross to the other side. Now, the mother and the daughter have to be together, because if they aren't, the father will kill the daughter. And the Father and the son have to be together, because if they don't, the mother will kill the son. The trainer has to be with the tiger, because if he isn't, the tiger will kill everyone.

They have a rowboat.

Only two people can go in the boat at one time (and people includes the tiger, for any smarties out there). And also, the kids and tiger cannot operate the boat, only the trainer, mother and father can.

How do they get accross without anyone dying?

steffo's one,

what about the mother and daughter go first (mother rows) father and son next (father rows) and trainer and tiger after that (trainer rows) none of them get seperated, how does the boat get back to the other side you ask? they tie a rope or something to it and pull it back.

I thought of that too but they didn't specifically say there's a rope.

The mum and dad go first. Mum goes back for the daugther, brings her back. Dad goes back for the son, brings him back. From there I'm stuck lol.

Nope... it goes like this...

Mother takes the daughter accross, and leaves her there.
She comes back in the boat, and then the father takes her accross, and leaves her with the daughter.
He comes back and gets out of the boat.
The trainer and the tiger go to the other side, and both get out.
The mother gets into the boat, leaving the daughter, tiger and trainer on the other side.
She goes back, then gets out, and the father gets in with the son.
He takes the son to the other side, leaves him there, then goes back for the mother.
The mother and father come back accross together, and everyone's made it.

The son can't operate the boat. Only the mother, father and trainer can. Besides, I've posted the answer.

Ok, there's a man, he lives on the 40th floor of an apartment building. Every day, he takes the elevator to the ground floor, and walks to work.

When he comes home, he takes the elevator to the 20th floor, then walks the rest of the way. On rainy days, he takes the elevator straight to the 40th floor.

Why does he only do that on rainy days, yet walk from the 20th floor on sunny days?

One more.. then I'm out of riddles...

There's a police man walking through a bad neighbourhood at night. He walks past a house, and hears a women say "No John, No!" and then screams. He walks into the house, sees a doctor, a lawyer and a priest... and the woman on the floor dead. He immediately walks over to the priest and arrests him. Why?
