San Andreas banned in Australia

All this has happened only days after the re-rating of the game in the United States after the uproar caused by US politicians and Jack Thompson. Many US stores have already refused to sell the game as a result of it's re-rating to Adult Only.

Rockstar Games are still working on producing a version without the content regarded as offensive. The issue has been taken more liberally on the internet however, many people stating that re-rating a game that simulates crime due to a modification makes little sense.

In the original game, you can date people. With this Hot Coffee thing you can dl a patch that allows you to see them having sex. The guy who came up with it claims it was in the game, he mearly unlocked it, Rockstar interactive are claiming he's added it on. Hillary Clinton is on a power trip trying to get it banned. She's also a stupid tramp, but I think most people know that.

I got this game agessss ago and it rocks! Too bad for x-box and PC people didnt it just recently get released on these formats?

Its been out for PC and Xbox for a while, I've had the PC version for a while, they're making the biggest deal over it the hot coffee mod is pretty really, I've got it and its real low poly and not really that bad since they're fully clothes, with shoes even. Rockstar first claimed it wasn't in the game and someone put it then they had to finally admit it is in the game just needs unlocking when someone unlocked it in the ps2 version.

Yeah, doesn't make much sense to me either. I understand the main reason it's banned here is because we have no R rating in videogames at the moment...

It's not surprising that it's being caned in the US though. Violence doesn't bat an eyelid from the sensors but sex seems to get them into a tizzy. I'm wondering how much this has to do with the 'bible belt'.

I don't have the game and don't plan to get it either, but I'd assume the coffee patch simulates some sort of cartoon sex between consenting adults? A natural act vs killing police and innocent bystanders, running drugs, gang wars and basically acting as public enemy #1 is considered fine! I'd love to hear just how they can justify that.

Moral of the story is:

Sex is evil, definately not approprate for a game. Shooting a cop because you smashed into his car is fine though. Why don't they teach that in school? Crazy bloody Americans, If that Mrs Clinton and all the others making a big deal about it said nothing many people wouldn't have downloaded it anyway, they just sparked interest in it.

More to the point, why aren't parents taking some responsility and looking after their children's intrests? I mean most kids wouldn't have the money to buy it out of their own pocket. The even stupider thing in the US is that after they change the classification on it only 18 year olds will be able to buy it, where it was 17 year olds before this. A whole year. Wow.

I couldn't find it anywhere today, and there's only one copy on ebay, so I think even ebay have banned it. Why the PS2 and Xbox versions have been banned is beyond me?

Actually, the ebay ones, they have all been started within a few hours, I'm guessing they won't be there in the morning? Only time will tell.

I've just seen a few screenshots of it... at least in the screenshots, the two participants were actually wearing clothes.

So in other words, murder of police, innocent bystanders and gang members is ok, but simulated sex with partners wearing clothes is wrong. Well done.

I presume this is for PS2? How do you get the patch onto the PS2 if you download it?

You can't as far as I'm aware, it's only on PC.

How was it crossing the line? How is it any worse than going out and running over cops? The sex isn't even violent, it's not as if he's bashing her while the're at it.
