So thats a win? Surely they would outline what they plan to do?

Would be interesting to see the T&C's.

yeah i saw the story board and lets say i would not give them my GT for what they will be doing.
they are building a road to park it on a cliff in Katoomba NSW, then its going to be in a banana storm with 2 people sitting in the back of it.
the ad is for Aldi
the car is fully insured for the value of $5k which is what i was selling it for. any damage is covered too and i have alot of photos and they also took photos on pickup.
i have the car insured myself just incase too

If the you're not too worried about the car and they're covering any damages then I'd go for it.

I supplied a car for a movie a while back, not the same situation I know. It was parked on the street with other period cars for filming, the cars were insured whilst on set, damage, public liability etc. We drove them in, parked them ourselves and sat at the catering table for a couple of hours whilst they filmed. Damn I ate some sushi that day

i was offered to drive the car there and they were going to pay me $250 a day plus accommodation for 3 days, it was too late notice for work unfortunately, so the costume designer picked up the car herself saturday
plus during this stage of 2020 i'm more comfortable at home, if it was 1 day i would have for sure

Hired an EF for filming of mission impossible in 2000. Let's say Budget rental's did not get that EF back in one piece....

Would be pretty cool to see our pride and joys on a commercial or in a movie etc. I would want to be there though i think.

My mate's Valiant Pacer was used to provide the car soundtrack for Suburban Mayhem. I guess the film car didnt have the sound to match the looks.

Reminds me of the movie "Convoy" Mack trucks supplied a few new models to boost sales.
Seems not a lot of the fleet survived the Alvarez Texas scene. Mack wasn't real happy.

We had a rock band approach us when we lived aboard the boat at Brooklyn wanting to film a party video clip.
Somehow the keywords rock band and party clued us to decline the offer.

I would've kissed the bonnet and fondled it for a while but you never know with these models I could've caught something so best off not doing that.

The XR8 ute I had years ago was used in a channel 9 TV show called COPS LAC.

They used it for a few high speed scenes as well as a few sideways action shots. Got paid handsomely for the few days work they used it for.

Got them to keep my plates on it to prove it was my ute they used too haha

this car, i got it cheap of a neighbour with a blown head gasket, fixed it and advertised on carsales and the next morning i had the costume designer asking for the use of the car
they are paying well, $1460 for 3 days
they need a blue ute and they could not find one anywhere
its pretty rough really but thats what they wanted, lets see if my wax job is still there when i get it back
least i can advertise it now "as seen on tv" and add a few grand to the price, maybe a payment plan too

Hi Guys,
In the 70s there was a movie Called The man from Hong Kong and there was a car chase which involved a valiant Charger.

The Charger was loaned from Chrysler Australia as long as it was brought back in the same state that it left. In the movie the Charger was a wreck after the chase and had to be repaired before it went back to Chrysler.

When the movie came out there was a guy watching it at the movies when he noticed the Valiant Charger in the movie was the car that he brought new after seeing how much damage the charger got he took his car back to the dealer.

I tried recently. They were filming Total Control out this way and asked for extras, as well as cars. Should have tried for an extra spot, paid damn well. I sent some photos of my car, but unfortunately not what they were after.

Interesting! Were you on set or near when the filming was taking place? Did they abuse the car like over revving/ skidding or anything?

With the number plates that's interesting. In all the US Shows the plates are taken off, but in Australia I think mostly they are kept on. I didn't actually know they borrowed people's cars for action shots - always assumed they'd just bought the cars, used them then sold / auctioned them off! Interesting thread

I was on set for the filming.

They made me sign a disclaimer, saying that all stunts and possible damage cause was fully covered under insurance. The stunt driver was awesome, he came over and chatted with me and got to know things about the car. He explained what they were going to do, a few times I did actually pucker up because they threw it into a corner sideways narrowly missing a few cars, but the end result looked awesome.

Even a few of the actors came over and chatted. Jeremy Lindsay Taylor was the actor who "owned" my ute in the show commented that he liked driving it.

They asked me about the plates, I said I didn't ind either way but would like to have something to remember my utes 15 minutes of fame. (Especially if the show became a hit... which it didn't lol)

We used to get a few offers per year for the older GTs but no-one ever wanted to pay other than petrol and lunch. Not much interest.

My racecar was used in a local TV ad in the early 90s.
I can't remember exactly who it was but it may have been for an electrical store (Betta type of store).

The company I worked for in the naughties was making a TVC where a car had to be covered top to bottom in red mud. They decided to use the MDs then new, black BMW X5.
Who knew that the iron in red dirt eats black paint? Cost them 5k to have it rectified.
