Ranger XLT 2017

Heard on the grapevine XLT Ranger coming out with a pack including leather, black sports bar, black exterior door handles, black on the dash etc. Anyone heard anything else???

Makes sense? I've always thought Ford could offer a more luxurious Ranger as opposed to the orange-themed Wildtrak. An equivalent to the Platinum F150 comes to mind.

I think the black treatment is a bit silly on the XLT as that's what the Wildtrack is for. it would of been good opportunity to split the top level Ranger in two directions - Wildtrack for sporty or young at heart crowd, and XLT FX4 with chrome and leather for the buyers who want the traditional pickup look

agree, just give the Wildtrack a leather option and your there.

Should be a model with Everest Titanium features as well as adjustable suspension for comfort, maybe canopy option - a family vehicle as that's what many are being purchased for now.

and just ditch the Everest.

It's a limited run, not a standard model.

Maybe they are testing the waters with full leather trim? Who knows

I think there is an untapped market for more upmarket, higher specified models above the likes of Wildtrack and SR5 ect.

People have no problems buying high spec Rangers as it is, a model above the Wildtrack could be a good seller and provide even more profit for Ford.

G'day , Gotta say...A few months ago I got the chance to have a real close look at a Ranger , I think it was the current XLT given it was one of two newey's a bloke and his wife had brought to our local car show The other was a Victory Gold XR8 Sprint .Both impressive to say the least.. The Ranger is not really my kind of transport but I can see why they sell so well and as Borat would say ..Verra Nice.. Cheers Rod..

I agree, there are a shed load of dealer upgrade models here in NZ that go for nearly $20k more than the RRP.

They all have leather interior/graphics/wheels/nudge bars/LED light bars etc

The ranger "Titanium" is the version that would appeal to me. All the luxo bits but with traditional chrome grill like the XLT. Oh and a 5.0 coyote. Because everything needs one of them.

Has anyone heard anything more on this ...very keen and close o put some money down on an XLT but would hang off if there is a limited edition "Platinum" or "Titanium" spec based on a level above the chrome XLT

Dealers should see these in a month or so, but the only "Titanium" spec you'd see is full leather, otherwise it will all be black not chrome.

Sounds like maybe an XLT with after market leather might suit you more?

Mazda and Ranger are the same yes. Pricing does vary:

Mazda GT 4x4- $49,990
Ranger XLT 4x4- $56,490

Also, feature wise they do differ, the Ford has some things, Mazda don't and vice versa. Ford have "Ford only" features too, like Emergency assist (which is a feature I would never overlook) and also SYNC3.

Keep in mind you'll need to spend the extra on a bull bar on the Mazda to cover up that horrible front end..

Ford had an update that Mazda got none of, electric power steering and driver assist programs etc. The Mazda is now half a gen behind.

The only real advantage is that they will be a limited build unlike Wildtrak which is unlimited in production run. I think I read it was limited to 2000 units.
