Post Toyota Recalls 328,000 Cars Fuel System and Airbag Faults.

"Toyota Australia recalled 328,000 cars this week to address two issues that affect millions of cars around the globe.

The most popular brand on the road will contact 324,000 owners of Toyota Corolla, Prius, Prius V and Rukus vehicles built between October 2008 and February 2015 to repair fuel systems that have a potential to catch fire.

The cars could have cracks in the fuel suction plate at the bottom of their petrol tanks that could allow fuel to leak, causing a fire.

Toyota says nine local examples of the Corolla suffered the problem, but that there have been no fires or injuries as a result. Toyota technicians require around two hours to repair the issue, which will be rectified without cost to customers.

The brand has also recalled 4560 Prius models built between April 2009 and April 2012 to remedy an airbag issue.

Faulty welds in curtain airbags supplied by Sweden's Autoliv could cause airbags to deploy inadvertently, with a potential to injure occupants.

The problem does not relate to recent campaigns attached to faulty Takata airbag inflators.

Toyota will fix the issue by installing support brackets for curtain airbags."
