So much completion in this segment now. I'm not sure our market is big enough for it.

How can it get 1/10 for performance? Did it not even move? And 3/10 for fuel economy! It's a heavy 4wd that just got a hammering and still got 10.7 lph. End score should be a 8/10

This is a good comparison Titanium vs Prado VX Pretty close competitors.

Parents just chose between the everest and the fortuna and went the fortuna, there reasons were the interior in the fortuna was a lot nicer, worried about the resale on the ford, to them ( remember 2 average people here not race car drivers ) they drove much the same and past bad experiences with ford dealers.
I've driven the fortuna and its a nice vehicle but haven't driven the everest so personally dont know how it compares.

Second last paragraph sums up Everests problems.but last paragraph contradicts that paragraph. The price should be around $69k.

I've driven a 2014 Prado Kakadu and wasn't a fan. Without doubt it's a great off-road vehicle, but it's just too floaty for my liking. It literally felt like driving a boat. I'd take the much cheaper MU-X I drove 18 months ago.
Whilst clearly a less adept off-road vehicle compared to the Prado, the MU-X was much nicer to drive on the road, and that's where I do most of my driving. I also preferred the understated but bland MU-X interior over the busy and low rent look of the Prado. The Everest is an interesting case study. Whilst not strictly in the same class as the Prado, it's almost as expensive and in some cases more expensive than the Prado. Where the Everest seems to be a clear winner is that it is almost as adept off-road as the Prado, yet it drives so much better than the Prado on-road. Whilst perhaps not providing the best value for money in its class, I am certain that the Everest is one of, or if not, the best vehicle in its class. But for me, its class is too expensive in general. If I'm shelling out that sort of cash, my money will be going to Chrysler for a Cherokee SRT8. |
