Default Removal of scrap metal and wood from property

Hi all

Just need a bit of advice regarding the removal of scrap metal off a farm.

My dad has recently passed away (RIP), and has left behind a large collection (easily fill a few large skips) of metal and wood collected over a number of years working in the construction industry.

Whilst I'm sure I could sell it over a long period of time, my mum wants it all gone, and doesn't care for the money a sale may generate.

I'm at a lose as to how to deal with all the metal/wood?

Does anybody here have any ideas? The farm is located on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria.

Last place I worked at had a collection of ag. machinery gathered over a period of about 35 years and the scrap metal guy would call in about once every 3 months. The boss was too dim to sell any of it though.
Normally a semi with a Hiab will pick it up if you contact them.
Winter's coming so put the wood on Gumtree.

Is there any material recyclers or used building material yards near you. If you don't won't paid for it most will pick up for free, just stipulate to them that it's all or nothing and they cannot pick through for the bits they want.

The tip here will accept timber and steel for free if its sorted. Not sure if your local tip does the same, it would be worth a call if you luck out having someone take it away for you

Most on the farm just dig a big hole and toss it all in and fill it back in.

Just have a sale first to see if anyone wants any of it.

Menzies Metals in Seaford. Not sure if they do pickups but they pay cash for scrap. For the wood. If its good building supplies there are a couple of demolition yards in frankston who might take it.

hire a 'pick up skip'. they drop the skip to your house, you fill it up and they take it away.
