guy i was messing around with the map light in my car and put my long tip pliers in one to pull it out of the hole and it short circuited now interior light all dont turn on and on the dash transmission park light is on

Replace the blown fuse to your interior lights, problem will be solved.

And always disconnect the battery when doing any electrical work even changing a bulb can mess with a cars electrics.

Personally removing a fuse would be better option, disconnecting battery means your ECU resets itself.

Though an ECU reset from time to time is never a bad thing.

I fitted a battery isolator to mine and any work I do on the car I turn it off, beats removing battery leads.
