This is weird, what do you think?

Howdy all,

Ok so something weird happened to me friday arvo, but il start with back story first.

I have neighbours directly behind me that have had loud parties in the past, lately not so much. Anyway when they have had parties my direct next door neighbour has called the cops as they have actually turned up next door and gone in for a chat, which i found strange and shortly after the back neighbour turns down the music. Also i think my neighbour has stuck there head over the fence a couple of times too...As i said this has not happened recently....

Now to the weird bit, i arrived home friday arvo and caught a bloke putting a note in my letterbox, he approached me as i drove in my driveway, we said gday and i asked him what he dropped in my letterbox he said 'you will see' he was polite and friendly so i thought ok maybe he has dropped a leaflet for some sort lawnmowing business as my lawn was quite long (bloody rain).

So i check the note and it says "LOOK OVER YOUR BACK FENCE TONIGHT" signed husband and wife. So anyway i start thinking ahhh its my back neighbour maybe he is having a party and thinks im the one that dobs him in and its a threat or maybe he is having a stripper over or some other cool thing and wants to share, or something a bit weirder that i wont mention just yet.....

So anyway after talking to the mrs she has similar thoughts to me...it gets the better of me and the next day i go and see him (i didnt look over the fence) its 11am saturday and as i get to the front door through the small window i can see old mate is nude, thankfully cant make out details.... He takes a while to answer and then is fully clothed, i ask him what is this note about and he says 'nah nothing its all good' i said 'i dont look over your fence, i dont dob you in for loud parties, do we have an issue? Same again 'nah mate all good, its nothing dont worry' we formally introduce and i leave more confused than before. As there was no explanation and he was friendly and he had no issue.

Now i have asked people what they think and its what i have thought too, but i want to see what you all think.....

As per first post, i told him i dont dob him in, he didnt even acknowledge the fact that it was even an issue, i suggested it was most likely the other neighbour, still no reply about the subject, appeared not even a concern of his, it was only my theory.....i wasnt angry or trying to be intimidating it was a normal conversation with no aggression on either side.... Its odd thats for sure

They didnt even have a party friday night, all the lights were on in their backyard and house but it was quiet, not even music, so for what reason should he be worried, or want me to look over the fence?

As it is signed as husband and wife I'd assume they would going at it, maybe dob you into the cops for invasion of privacy even though they invited you to do so. Either way I'd just distance myself from them, did the neighbor next to you get a letter as well?

Believe me im staying well out of it, i dont think the other neighbour got one, im on good terms with them so will ask at some point.

Yep...its weird...tread carefully......some people have enough time on their hands to cause other grief rather than getting on with their own lives. (see stories on 'Today Tonight' and 'A Current Affair' as proof)

Fronting up to his door asking if there was a problem and asking to discuss it was a good way to get the conversation going without animosity.

Myself and all my workmates straight away say swingers, wanted to see if the broader population had a similar view....i find it hilarious... Not overly concerned about it if they leave me alone, and really i reckon they need their eyes checked if they want to swing with me.....

Be careful as well, maybe he has set up a camera to record anyone
looking over the fence as proof to sue you for invasion of privacy as
suggested by nova 8. Just keep ears open and ignore them for a while.

sorry but that's a complete load of rubbish for so many reasons

deliver a note inviting a person to look over their fence then if they do spend lots of $ to take them to court to try to 'sue' them....yeah that's highly likely

sorry but I would have looked!...........just be careful in what you do, there are some weirdo's out there who could do you or yours immense harm if provoked or thought to be provoked.

ring the coppers and make them aware of stage one of a possible upcoming saga, who knows what the hell stage two is.

just at the back of us a house was trashed because they were suspected of "dobbing".

people won't take responsibility for their actions nowadays, always someone else's fault, party, go stupid, get dobbed in then they look to take "revenge".
