Good to see it says the XR8 will be back for one last time.

Can't wait.

That article is so full of factual errors it is not funny. Who ever wrote it has no idea about recent Falcons at all.

--

"Ford could also deem the FPV F6’s 270kW/565kW 4.0-litre inline turbo-six" - The kw figure is wrong and the torque figure is listed as kw.

"while fitting the entry-level FPV GS sedan’s lower-output 315kW/545Nm version into the born-again 2014 Falcon XR6 is a similar no-brainer." - probably just a typo and supposed to read XR8

It's hard to take an article seriously when it's been written by 'journalists' who can't proofread...

So, they'll continue with a Ford FH GT by the sounds of things... Makes my choice even harder now... A last of FPV GT, or the last Ford GT... I suppose i'll wait and see what sort of tech and looks the FH GT has before deciding...

I hope to be in a better financial position when this car comes on sale, so I can buy the last model Falcon.

Assuming I like the looks, then I will buy one of the last FG's.

Outside of the upcoming reveal sounds like a massive pile of speculation.

Other than the news about the reveal, the rest is rubbish.
I'm hoping the date can be confirmed by another source, otherwise it could all be speculation.

Although the HP19 in the Ecoboost is a 2nd gen version, it will be a higher capacity HP28 that will replace the HP26. 6R80's might be used too in some versions.

That's for people who have actually seen it. Very few have. Only a select group who attended a specific meeting saw a picture of it, I don't know anyone who did, so the numbers must have been small.

Since that article is so factually incorrect, there probably won't even be an XR8 like it claims.

"Be badged as the Falcon XR6 F6"?

Yeah right mate.
Is this bloke serious with this stuff or what?

I hope there's a proper reveal and the GT goes on but this gives me no confidence.

XR6 Turbo 310 is better.

You're right, iirc the ZF A6 used in petrol models is made in Germany while the Terry diesel A6 unit built under licence by Ford comes from Michigan.

This drive article was better http://news.drive.com.au/drive/motor...806-2rd8s.html

Says only computer renders so none built yet. I hope they go hard but who knows they might save their money and be a mk3 with minimal change.

XR8 and XR6 Turbo 310 which has been talked about here before is good tho.

whichever one is better value. I think you're being a tad optimistic if you think its going to be a collectible.

What's wrong with punching 300+rwkw through a live axle and cart springs? Some people should learn to live a little
250rwkw, live axle, cart springs and sub 900kg is hell fun!

I think the last run of gt's and xr6t's will be collectable. But not for 30 years or so.

I'm not too fussed on whether it ends up being collectible for profit, by the time it becomes collectible i will be old and well and truly retired.

I agree though, i'll suss out the which is best value, but it will be a sentimental thing for me i suppose. I'd like to keep it for the kids, as it might be something special to them as they approach their 30s (they're 3 and 6 currently). If i can afford to keep it i will, if not, i'll trade it in when i want my next new car.

I'm assuming the FH will have a lot more tech to bring it closer in line with the VF. Where as the current GT is more of a true brute of a muscle car. I guess i'll have to wait and see.

haha, you're probably right mate! If only fuel didn't go stale, i could have bought a few 1000 litres for the kids to enjoy the pleasure of an old school V8 lol... after that they'd have to convert it to whatever the fuel of the day is!

I'm hoping the FH is a cracker and Ford Aus go out with a bang. Would be fantastic if the FPV/Ford mob had already done all the necessary work for an intercooled V8...

Im interested in the actual tech changes. From what Ive read all we get is LED taillights and a newer 6spd.

Surely we get keyless start???

Front parking sensors????

Are the seats the same?

Oh and I hope we get a proper ad campaign, not that FG walking fingers crap. The BA n BF ads were about freedom and fun or humor. But the FG 'walking fingers' campaign was garbage. Worst ad campaign ever!!

I'm hoping for more tech to bring it closer to the VF. If it doesn't, then i might as well pick up an FG GT 335, instead of the FH...
