Default The Next Falcon AWD??

Just recently saw this picture of wheels magazines September issue.
I think it says 2011 but it may faintly say 2013. IMO it looks like a done up taurus. Give us your opinions. Thanks!

When is it going to sink in that Ford will not have a large sedan anymore. They are pulling out of the large car segment entirely as it's at less than 3% of total vehicle sales and still falling. Its dead, and Ford no longer considers it worth having a player in anymore. And not to mention that the Taurus will never be RHD either, that decision has been made too.

Now everybody repeat after me.

THERE WILL BE NO TAURUS HERE.
THERE WILL BE NO TAURUS HERE.
THERE WILL BE NO TAURUS HERE.

I don't want to sit through another 3 years of people talking about the Taurus when it will never come here. It's like banging your head against a brick wall. The Mondeo will be the biggest sedan Ford will offer.

A facelifted FG, and when that finishes in 2016 the Falcon name will be retired, like Ford has already said...several times.

More of the same, different bumpers. Its a dead duck, there's no way they're going to throw any more money at it with only 3 years to recoup the spend.

Well yeah pretty obvious mate, i was talking about the next ford falcon not falcon in 10 years (non-existent), and falcons get face-lifted every 6 or so years anyway why wouldnt they want to finish it off with a bang. Guess we'll just see what happens.

Also, new bonnet, guards and deck lid. They are throwing money at it........

Do please tell us more, are they going to revamp the interior as well or just leave it as it and through a few extra features in? I’m also interested on the mechanical side, we know the current engines will stay, but is there any work being done to improve them at all?

I would love to buy a brand new Falcon in 2014/15 but it its anything like the FG MKII update was then I’m going to the opposition or the 300c SRT8 if I can stretch my budget a little.

This information is all available on the internet, Mr Graziano has expressed the interior will change but not to the extent of the Commodore. Any more info and you start leaking inside knowledge, a big no-no............

It's been said that the 2014 falcon will receive an updated ZF box, still 6spd. Lighter and more fuel efficient .

awd is boring 99% of the time unless you are down dirt roads sliding with a slightly rear bias and back LSD, then its fun :-)

It won't be an FG Mk III if that is what you are getting at. It will be a model in it's own right, and whilst it may not have things the VF has such as alloy panels and a HUD, it will have a fair bit of stuff (unless they have cut some of it because of tight $$$). In terms of appearance and styling, I think it will knock the VF for a six.

Just because they are not producing cars here doesn't mean they have to recoup money by then they are still selling cars here and falcon can go out with a bang. But sadly probly won't!

I would speculate that the interior will be heavily based on the look of that of the 2013 Fusion Interior.

Exactly, but ford should be able to have new features like you said,

“Today we want to talk about a new investment in Falcon and Territory of $103 million for clean technologies that will be introduced on this vehicle in 2014, taking us out to 2016,” said Ford Australia president and CEO Bob Graziano.

Should be enough money to invest in a new model car, not a FG Mk III like the other people up there^^ said.

Let's hope the next Falcon has a more aggressive look that strikes accord with people,
the VF looks a lot softer, more rounded than the old VE, maybe Falcon can ace it on looks...
