I've only met one that prefers Ford over Holden. He's just bought an FG XR6.

Every other Kiwi, especially indigenous Kiwi's, seem to crave Commodores.

I've lost count of the kiwis I've seen in Falcons. It seems like Fords are to them, what Holdens are to Aussies.

May 2013,

Falcon 54
Territory 115
Mondeo 80

Commodore, 194
Captiva, 304

In comparison, SantaFe, 270. Highlander, 142. Camry/Auron 89.

Sales mimick Aus. Last time I was in NZ the only FG2s on the road seemed to be rentals. Looks as though dealers do their best to promote the Euro stuff. Most in main centers don't have any new Falcons on the yard. The ones that do are small country dealers where Falcon sales are usually strong.

Have to remember the NZ market is a very different place to Australia.

Jap imports dominate the landscape, no local manufacturing, cheap imports which are also generally more fuel efficient than most offerings from ford and Holden, and a fuel price that makes your eyes water mean a big thirsty car is pointless for most average families.
