So youve got an old car in the yard.
Do you offer it cheap on the hope someone can do something with it Or do you save the headache and the hassles and get more $$$ takin it to the scrappie |

You'll probably get more for it selling it to someone who wants the parts. Ferrous scrap prices are quite low at the moment so you wouldn't get much for it scrapping it.
Benny.

Depends what it is!
If its considered a "classic" then try and sell it..... If its a basket case take what ever is good off it and sell the parts.

I do a lot of scrap metal on the side. Whenever i get an older car, i always try to offload it for scrap price, plus 50 bucks on top as my bonus. When i get tyrekickers who offer me half the scrap price? Bye bye. Mind you, that is an absolute rarity since most people see the bargain. There are lots of classics out there getting scrapped which i'd happily pay a little bit extra for just to save them or get lots of useful parts. I wish others would at least try to offer them up first.

in my current situation with quite a few cars floating around, i`d say if it`s not special scrap it, space is more important to me , don`t need any more headaches.

Scrap it. I hate rusty clutter and that's all I see an old car as.

Grab what ever parts are useful before scrapping it......Useful parts for old cars are bloody hard to get as it is, without chucking them away just for the heck of it.

Crack out the spot weld drill, spend 800 days taking the car apart, and sell the sections that are in good condition.
Someone might think it's therapeutic. |
