Hi all,
I'm looking at purchasing another classic but want to do an online REVS check. What number do I use since pre - 89 vehicles don't have 17 character VINs? Cheers.

Its not a REVS check any more it is a PPSR check, same dog different bone. Cars made after 1988 should have a VIN with 17 digits otherwise you use the chassis no. Its all explained on this page, click on the ? for info on VIN/chasis nos. https://transact.ppsr.gov.au/ppsr/Se...hicle?v=Search . Its also no longer free $3.50 from your credit card.

You could try 'car history' too.....
http://www.carhistory.com.au/products/ Tel. 1300 799 523 From what I gather, this crew uses the PPSR check as well as adding other information to their reports.
