Default 2012 Hyundai Grandeur/i50

It is ok looking, though I am not sure how Jag will react to Hyundai using the XF rear. Other than that it isn't bad, certainly Hyundai have stepped up in the last couple of years.

Wow they've really stepped it up since i20, that interior is fantastic I reckon. I especially like that blue lighting running along the doors and dash. Looks very up market. Engine looks weird being so off centre though.
Overall good car I reckon, what is it priced liked, as in what is it competing against? G6e/Calias maybe?

Thanks for those photo's, looks very good and no doubt will be full of kit by the look of the interior. This is Hyundai coming of age as a brand IMHO. If it drives right, handles well and is priced sensibly they deserve to do very well with it. I'd imagine this car will have several Japanese brands feeling a little nervous. Any engine and kit spec's to share ?

Very nice looking, sorta a next model i45 from some angles.

Not to sure on the passenger side dash, bit too much sculpting.

A switchable passenger airbag means you can have children in the front seat. The current Tritons have this feature as well.

Hyundai seem to have really nailed a consistent design language now. It might be a little derivative but it's becoming distinctly theirs. Personally I find it a little effeminate though, I prefer the Kia equivalents in their range strangely enough. Like the Optima vs the i45.

You work for Hyundai Australia, right?

I can see no other reason for wasting so much space on a FORD Forum!

Was this car just announced at the LA motor show that’s on now? Any ideas if it’s going to be sold here? What about drive trains details?

Man this car just looks fantastic … so many latest features … makes my Falcon look 10 years old …

you saw the thread title right?
If you don't like it don't click it, simple.

I don't work for Hyundai. I post details of many new cars.
If you have a problem with it then change the rules on the forum.

As for the car, I cannot locate any drivetrain details but from what I understand it might run the 3.3L V6

I found this:
With 293 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque, Hyundai claims best-in-class specific output for the mill (88.8 horsepower/liter), which also returns 20 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway for (you guessed it) a best-in-class combined average of 23 mpg. Mileage is aided by Azera’s 3,605 pound curb weight, which compares favorably with the Buick LaCrosse (3,835 pounds) and Ford Taurus (4,015 pounds)

So that’s:
220Kw
345nm
1635kg

So many companies are opting for those wacky looking LED daytime running lights.
I remember when Volvo's used to have them in the 70's and 80's. (Of course without the fancy LED's) DRL's certainly seem to be in fashion these days.

I wonder if this new model will keep the Grandeur name here or get the new 'i' branding. Hyundai seem to be renaming nearly all their vehicles with an 'i' something. I was surprised that the latest Elantra and Accent didn't get renamed.

1. The function of cluster ionizer is cleaning air by sterilizing and dissolving of air conditioner.
2. The function of cluster ionizer is controlling mold caused by stench of air conditioner and external inflow of air.

The Cluster Ionizer makes a disinfection and decomposition of a bad smell from the air-conditioner or inflow air. And it cleans inside air of a vehicle.
When running an air-conditioner or heater, it starts with "CLEAN MODE" on it and repeats from "CLEAN MODE" to "ION MODE" and from "ION MODE" to "CLEAN MODE" every 15 minutes.
In the CLEAN MODE, the cluster ionizer generates negative ions and positive ions and makes a disinfection and decomposition of a bad smell from the air-conditioner or an inflow air. The cluster ionizer has functions as follows; a deodorization effect, a disinfection effect, and an air-cleaning effect.
It has an operation indicator lamp on the upper side of its display area and shows whether it is operaing or not.
In the ION MODE, the cluster ionizer generates negative ions and cleans inside air of a vehicle. It has an opeation indicator lamp on the lower side of its display area and shows whether if is operating or not.

So will the Cluster ionizer help with severe flatulence inside the vehicle if the windows somehow weren't able to wind down? Like a solution for a dutch oven on wheels???

Yeh first front on shot I saw I was thinking Aurion. Rear reminds me a bit of the Accord Euro. In saying that, this is the first of the recent 'new design language' Hyundais that I like. Actually I like it quite a lot

Those seats are straight out of a Mercedes. Probably better quality leather, however - I've never been impressed with the leather in a Merc.

The engine cover is slightly deceptive - looks like a V8, but is a V6, FWD.

Still warms my heart to see others driving Australian cars and I love that I have one and keep it running. Just can't warm to Korean cars, they look good though.
