Cool altezza tail lights poll

They've been popular for the last couple of years but what do we think of these bolt-on bits? Are they a hit or a miss for your car?

Agreed but your xr8 really wants EF tail lights I reckon. You fix that indicator yet?

I'm gonna be different and say it depends on the car.
While I wouldn't fit them to the XR, check out TUF260's car in the following link. I think the black lights on winter white look pretty sharp.

Aftermarket Lights is no different to putting on a set of aftermarket rims.

Just depends on the car and or light.

The blacked out lights with the twin brake bulbs on BA's are nice...

But most chrome ones are tacky.

Oh, and why would Boyd Coddington be rolling in his grave? Some of his cars used off the shelf custom lights....

spot on mate.

i think mine suit my car heaps, and make it that little bit different to the next falcon. but there are a lot out on the roads that look horrid, I'm talking chrome tail lights on VTs where they have the red plastic along the boot, hard to explain, but it looks sh%thouse, and jap cars.

but it can look good.

Good point re: Coddington. I only put him in 'cos he's dead and one of the few purists. If he didn't have it he'd usually manufacture it but he did stick some ugly steering wheels and after market bits on some of his cars.

At the heart of any modification is doing something new - the main point about these super cheap lights is that they have lost their originality. They're like wearing a novelty tie to a wedding or using comic sans on a business card. It all just screams 'novice'.

A resounding result there. No vote rigging even needed.
Altezza lights shoulda stayed on bloody IS200's.
Some of these knockoffs are friggin dodgy in their operation and seem to get wired up incorrectly. REAL good look huh.

Saw a standard VX the other day, normally they look just OK from the rear, but this one had the clear Altezza lights I nearly threw up, AU's just the same, they look so wrong. What goes through their heads when they put these things on??

They are one of the ugliest mods you can do to a car, how people think they look good is an absolute mystery to me. They *always* look out of place on the car and I'd sooner have my car painted hot pink before I'd fit altezza's, they're that ghey.

I went for choice number 2, yes I do realise sarcasm is the lowest form of wit but I am comfortable with that.

Again like others say, it depend son the car, i had em on my Barge, but i think its tacky that now car manufactuars are bringing out "chrome and blinged" clear/chrome tail lights from factory, like the new FG's and Aurions, those ligts look disgusting.
