Default Dodgy car

Ok now does this car seem a bit dodgy to you?

carsales
I rang the number but no answer. Notice the number isnt even a west australian number unless its a mobile but its still odd.

Scam. Just look the price, its just way to cheap to be genuine.

first impression...whats wrong with it???
its 10 to 20k too cheap.
second I doubt its a scam, to advertise on carpoint and carsales it costs you $30 upfront before your ad goes online with them.
if theres no answer, its probly sold and they arent taking any more calls.
maybe its got a shagged motor/trans or diff. is out of rego or encumbered or somthing silly like that. maybe she is a flood damaged car and has issues. who knows, but I would be suss about the price.

who knows, it may be genuine.

a Family friend once bought a 1 year old Merc for $2000 (yes, $2000) - about 10 years ago.
he was doing some building work at their mansion when the woman found out her husband was cheating on her.
it was his car but it was in her name and she wasnt really impressed so as payback she sold his Merc to him for $2000.
i think that one really hurt too as the mansion was on the market soon after.

Mobile numbers begin with 04 as far as I know.

The 3rd picture isnt even the car for sale. Its an auto and different colour.

Would be a good buy if its a genuine disgruntled wife

There's only a couple of things that seem a bit suss to me.

1. The ad lists a rego, but the car's rego plates are blanked out.

2. Air bags have been listed twice in options (which can indicate "seller" has gone troppo ticking the options list in carsales)

3. The format the number is written is a touch odd looks to be an international format minus prefixes.. 074 SPACE 6369852 instead of 07 SPACE 46369852 (and as Torxteer said, WA is 08, not 07)

4. Post code. 6000. That's the City of Perth post code right? Fair enough, pictures could have been taken at friend/family home. How many CITY dwellers need a heavyduty towbar and further more have room for a trailer?

Now either the ad has been written by a disgruntled wife who lives interstate, who just ticked a bunch of options on carsales, who loathes her husband

OR

A moron wrote it

OR

SCAM.

.... and they all lived happily ever after.

Josh.

Punched the number plate into trusty Google, came up with this.

http://harriganford.com.au/usedcars/...01102_left.htm

Same car, same rego, advertised by Harrigan Ford in Yallah (Woolingong area).

Here's the kicker, that abovementioned listing has more km's on the clock than the Carsales ad. Assuming that Harrigan Ford is not dodgy, and unless he drove across the Nullarbor in reverse, it only really points to one thing. SCAM

Was going to also point out that the rego no. listed appears to be a NSW one, not WA

Thing is.

What idiot would deposit the full amount without seeing/driving the car - Let alone communicating with the seller first up?

Plenty of idiots would, otherwise they wouldn't bother wasting the money listing the ad.

Why do people think that the scammer actually has paid $30 to list an add. Pretty good chance scammers have access to dodgy credit cards galore.
