Last week Mrs RSgerry had the wind take the car door from her grip and it slammed into a shopping trolley. The edge of the door has been dented, but it is a smooth dent. I believe there are mobile dent removers that massage the metal back to shape without the need for painting. Has anyone dealt with these guys and any recommendations in WA?

I've had paintless dent removal done. The work is undetectable.
The need to be able to get behind the dented panel with their tools. I would be surprised if they could do the edge of a door because it would probably have two sheets either touching or cery close together. It would be worth making enquiries though. |

Yep got it done on the XR8 after two blokes decided to get in a punch up beside it and a knee went into the rear guard. SH!TEST JOB EVER, you could see all out dents of like a small punch it was all over the shop. 'Lucky' enough, it got lightly rear ended about a week later and when the 'proper' panel shop repaired the bumper we got them to fix the side aswell. Never again for us.

paintless works good, just depends on the access and the size of the dent.

good for small dings, and i guess it really depends on the guy doing it. the guy that does the BMW new cars where i sometimes do some work does a fantastic job, undetectable even on black paint etc.

had my passenger door done a couple of weeks ago Dent-A-Way Paintless dent removal (melbourne). great bloke to deal with and offered to fix my car on his day off too! for 100 bucks i had a pretty large crease and couple of dents taken out, can't even tell they were there now.
LPGUTE, your best bet would be to have a chat with one of these paintless dent guys, as I had asked a similar question. Apparently if the dent is too large and the metal has buckled or stretched, then it may be difficult to 'pull out' and smooth the panel to its original form. but definitely worth a shot giving those guys a call. cheers, Julza

we had the wifes ba repaired using paintless dent removal after a hail storm and the car looked like brand new .
but I have heard stories of paint cracking a short time after the repairs, but both were slightly older cars (10years)
