Default Which Post-Apocalyptic world would you rather live in? (with pictures and poll)

ZOMBIES

Almost 99.9% of the world's population has become the living dead and you are one of the few survivors constantly moving from town to town in the shadows looking for food, water, supplies.
The zombies are plentiful where ever you go so you are basically stuck sleeping in cardboard boxes or out in the bush where nobody can find you.

POST NUCLEAR WAR

After several years of world wars and nuclear almost all countries suffer unrecoverable losses, with all supplies and medical care diminished the only realistic places of livable interest are hazardous terrain and environmental effects.
Very few people remain.

ALIEN INVASION

In the near future after being invaded by a hostile alien colony, earth is almost brought to total destruction, most people have been killed and the ones remaining are on the run or serve the aliens as food reserves.

MASSIVE CLIMATE CHANGE

Huge storms, desolate temperatures on both ends of the scale, volcanic activity, earthquakes are just a few of mother natures vindictive fury apon the earth ravaging most land leaving only a few places of survival.

ROBOTIC UPRISING

Advanced technology allowed for huge leaps in artificial intelligence which propelled computers to begin to think for themselves, apon mass production of robotic weapons they were used against humans and began total destruction, only technology free areas such as small isolated islands are the only remaining safe zones.
Robots are able to use human equipment including transport, weapons, computer systems, etc.

So which post-apocalyptic world would you chose to live in?
Pretty much all the options leave you with little survival chances however its up to you to decide what you would.

Crap I forgot to add in Robotic Uprising as a poll option.
If any mods are available would it be possible to update the poll with that 5th option?

Thanks.

The choices are hard... see the Nuclear War thing is appealing since normal people are left, but they can go all mutant and weird zombie like anyway (Hills have Eyes anyone?).

The Zombies... well, it depends on the Zombie...

I am Legend style -

They only come out in the dark. Ultra violet light kills them. However, they retain human like intelligence, with groups, leaders and are able to follow you, set traps, run faster then you can and seem to by physically very strong. If they bite you, you die and become one of them - or they eat you instead. They are cureable, and they die from the same things normal people die (beaten to death, shot, stabbed etc).

Resident Evil style -

They come out whenever. Hiding from them is hard. They are however, stupid. They don't really run or walk well. They can't use human technology, they can't set traps, they're easily thwarted... climbing a tree or closing a door will usually suffice. They're pretty physically incapable and slow moving and stuff. However they have this nasty tendancy to quietly sneak up on you because of this slowness. Same problem as the I am Legend ones, they either bite you to make you one of them or they eat you. However these ones don't have a pack mentality and just wander around each other aimlessly. They are far more difficult to kill, as they can survive without most of their torso, and with only part of their head. Best bets are disintegration (hand grenades, TNT etc), incineration (burn them), severing the head or a bullet between the eyes, preferably something big calibre like a .50AE, .357, .44 Magnum or a rifle round. They're also scarier then the I am Legend ones. Also can possibly be cured.

Dawn of the Dead style -

These ones aren't nice. Their spread is far more rampant then the rest of them, pretty much everyone has become one. They're similalry stupid like the Resident Evil ones, however their stamina is immense and they can run really fast. They also seem stronger then normal humans. Same problems to kill them, gotta remove the head. Also just wander aimlessly like the Resident Evil ones. Again same problem... if you're bitten you become one, or they'll eat you. They're also uglier and scarier then the other two so far. Cannot be cured.

28 Days Later/28 Weeks Later style -

Yet another group of stupid zombies. However these ones are very fast runners, scream alot, like to vomit blood and can do simple things like open doors (not good). They seem to be more perceptive then the Resident Evil and Dawn of the Dead ones, which is also not good. They will either eat you or bit you to make you one of them. However with these, if some of their blood gets in your eye, in your nose or in your mouth, you will become one of them. Not good. Killing them is the same norm, head must come off, however if you destroy most of their torso, these ones do die. Could possibly be cured. The biggest advantage with these is that they will die of hunger after 28 days (or one month). So if you can make it that long, and then either not touch the bodies or incinerate them, you're ok.

Traditional Zombie -

Undead creature, usually reanimated by supernatural means. Slow moving and stupid. Hunts for the flesh and brains of living humans. Can only be killed be incineration or severing of the head. You don't become one if you're bitten, you just get killed by them and eaten.

The Alien and Machine stuff doesn't look too nice. The weather could work, as people still remain normal so there's no biting and killing and yuck stuff like that. Dunno, gotta think... can't vote just yet haha.

Interesting thread btw!

hmmmm....seems like we`re going to be pretty well buggered which ever way.

i took the zombie option, atleast i might be able to go live in the bush somewhere and become a mountain man. keep away from the inhabited areas and start my own population of ford blue blooded zombie resistant ninja mutant falcon driving petrol heads.

by the way.... i think you need to put the drugs down, stop watching scary movies and go have a nice lay down.

It depends:
Post-Nuclear War-
Will a utopian society erupt from the ashes, so to speak, creating a golden age amongst men? Or will we be reduced to warring tribes with minimal technology.

However, in the end, it seems like the safest bet, considering you most likely won't have to live in fear every day. Unless the the nuclear warfare creates a hostile mutant population. However from my experience, most mutation ends in death. So it seems like a good bet.

Zombie Uprising:
Depending on what kind of Zombies we get, will we rid the Earth of the threat? I'm fairly confident I could outlive an uprising as long as it was dealt with/cured. And then stuff would go back to normal, basically. Except housing prices would fall, since the market would be absolutely flooded.

Alien Invasion:
After one alien invasion, who's to say there won't be another?

Climate Change:
F&*k that. Unless it makes my current housing situation a beachfront property.

Don't fancy hanging with a bunch of zombies - "I said pick up your own arm" not too keen on the whole nuclear thing coz a bunch of people that have the same hair do as Bert Newton, Aliens not interested in that ....all that slime and no eye lids...YUKKY - NO THANKS - but a robot that never needs a battery change....yep...sounds GREAT to me!!

Zombies.

They splatter easily when you run into them in your armored F250, and you can use them for target practice from the roof of your house.

Id go the zombies - Anyone reminded of Dead Rising?

Obviously this is some sort of twisted fantasy but it would be quite enjoyable breaking into anything and stealing everything you wanted.

Fresh food would be my concern. Id have to live of root vegetables and quite possibly insects.

My first port of call would be a gun shop - Unfortunately with our gun laws Automatics would have to be sourced from a Military Compound

A nice fast car would be ideal but something of brute stature would be more practical.

I would live in a concrete re-enforced bunker with only 1 way in deep under ground.

Tough one this...if I was living in America I would have to go the Zombie option due to the sheer number of firearms available. Although I still think life span would be not very long. If you go out looking for Zombies to kill then you would ultimately get eaten I reckon.

Living in Aust I would probably go the climate change option. Easiest to deal with I think.

Zombies have to be the clincher, you'de soon work out how to best get rid of the stupid leg draggers and knock them off

Maybe find yourself a female survivor and breed yourself a massive army!

At least then the weather/conditions/air etc wouldnt be different
