Default HSV Maloo sprung - unclad.

Oh boy, HSV won't be impressed. HSV just can't keep their VE's under wraps huh?

That looks like a badly integrated Ssangyong. Are you sure that Caradvice haven't got confused?
I guess the ute looks rather svelte compared to this. Another example in HSVs new "Aggressive" design. They looks aggressive, but in the same way a wild pig looks aggressive. The rear of this maloo just look ugly - you cannot have tailights that wrap around what is effectively a very sharp angle!

Are you sure the tights on the tailgate arent just a stick on to throw people off. They look far to flat to be real in that pic??

Agreed, they don't have any depth to them, they look like holographic style decals on the tailgate, with standard taillights around them.

Holden show us a really nice new Wagon that they've come up with but this is a dogs breakfast for sure. That looks horrible, what were they thinking?

Id say they are real, if you remember back when VE first came out, one of thye things that was said about HSV's was that they wanted to make them harder to copy (i.e. you cant just go and buy a HSV bodykit, put it on a base model and drive away). Thats why the taillights etc are so different from your normal models.

Real utes and not just chop shop jobs is what Ford has! 100 million dollars??
Give me a 9 inch angle grinder and a six pack of beer and I could have made the VE ute.

Pretty stupid to make judgement, based on a blurry back end picture.

I reckon it'll look pretty good actually.

I'll reserve my judgement on the rear lights for now, but from the mock up pictures in MOTOR mag, the Maloo looks the business for a show Ute. My favouite HSV is still a Black GTS however. Just because we're Ford nuts doesn't mean we can't appreciate other models.

It really does look like an Aurion rear end, I don't like it. Big fan of some of the other VE cars though.

I agree. The pictures I've seen of the wagon look good, but I haven't been impressed with the utes so far. I don't like the back end of the VE utes at all, and this looks the ugliest so far.

but does that look like a ute rear?

I know it is one, but it doesn't look very ute-ish to me.

the ute was advertised on TV today..
not a maloo by the look was just a regular SSV type of thing..

looked pretty similar to every other ute they have made in the VX -VZ shape..

Atleast holden are trying to separate their highspec cars from the base models. I think what they have produced so far is very good and what they have done with the VE has been brilliant. This should force ford into another gear with what they do with orion.
