Default Under siege

What a day.
I was busy working away in the shed when my wife comes in and tells me there is a heap of cop cars in the street.
Turns out there was a domestic in the battle-ax house next door to us and the bloke has a gun. The police blocked of the whole street and told everyone to get indoors.
Here are a few spy shots from our bedroom window.

It`s all over now. It went from 3.30 pm to about 7.00 pm.
I sat out the back behind the shed with a couple of beers listening to it all.

I think the swat team shoot him. I heard a muffled shot then the coppers call for an ambulance, which were on standby at the end of the street.

The funniest thing was when I was having a beer behind the shed, a head stuck up from behind the back fence and it was one of the swat guys, he didn’t see me at first, then when he saw me he s*** himself.

The guy with the shotty shells is because he possibly (can't really see) has a pump action shotgun attached under his M4 for door breaching.

had that action before at my house.
scares the absolute crap out of you when SWAT (or whatever they are here) rock up and start smashing their way into your yard.
its really nice to go out the back to see whats going on, only to find 5 armored cops with guns pointed at you telling you (in a VERY serious manor) to get the .... on the ground

dumbarse neighbors behind us were letting off fireworks and another uninformed neighbor rang the cops and said WE were shooting at all the houses around us.
we lost our dog too that day. they smashed down the driveway gate and the dog got out.
the neighbor letting off the fireworks only got a warning as well.

Penrith armed man dies after stand-off
Monday Jul 30 22:30 AEST
An armed man who held police negotiators at bay for several hours has died in a NSW hospital after apparently shooting himself.

The shooting occurred in the front yard of a house in Penrith, in Sydney's west, shortly before 7pm (AEST).

A woman and three children, who were inside the home, were not injured.

Police had cordoned off the Landy Avenue home in suburban Kingswood Park hours earlier after being called to a domestic dispute.

"About 3pm police were called to a house ... after receiving reports that a man armed with a firearm was threatening self harm," a NSW Police spokeswoman said.

"Police established a perimeter and officers from the State Protection Group and negotiators attended the scene."

The spokeswoman said police negotiated with the man for several hours.

"Shortly before 7pm the man sustained a gunshot wound," the spokeswoman said.

"He was treated at the scene by ambulance officers before being taken to the Nepean Hospital."

The man, in his late 20s, died in hospital a short time later.

Police have established a crime scene at the property and the investigation continues.

A report would be prepared for the coroner, and the police response independently reviewed.

11.45pm. The police just knocked on my door and ask me if I heard anything.
I basically told them I heard most of the negotiations.
I then asked if he had shot himself and they said they could not comment.

Damn interesting and scary at the same time, i hope all is well with the family that were int he house as well.

Same thing happened to a mate a few years back, he go a bit angry and puched the tin shed a LOT, then calmed down with a beer and cigarette on the balcony when ERT guys in black come stalking up the driveway, when he asked what was going on the neighbours had called about "Automatic Gunfire"
