'baked on' stickers removal

im sorry but i didnt know where to put this but my sisters bitsamisin lancer had some dragon stickers on the back screen and the layers if u must has peeled off leaving the 'sticky' bit but thats now like baked on and cant be removed like a sticker any ways of removing without scratching the glass, replacing the glass or buying expensive materials?

I couldnt get the stickers i had on the window to come off neatly, when they did, some of the window tinting retained the shape of the sticker, so i just bought a new rear windscreen.. i know thats now what you wanted, but its the only way that i could get rid of those really baked on stickers.

Try eucalyptus oil for starters, if not prepsol or rubbing lightly with thinners may soften the adhesive to enable you to sarefully scrape off.

if its on the outside of the glass or not ontop of a side thats been tinted , you can easilly remove old crud like that without scratching with just a sharp razor blade , you can even get those small tools which hold the blade ( usually used for removing the old crud off ya windscreen from old rego stickers ) .

thanks guys ill try the eucalyptus oil/prepsol/whatever is corrosive and dilute it then give my shakey hands a go with the blade...LOL

before you go out and buy prepsol, eucalyptus oil etc try some 'spray and wipe'. i recently removed some old tint from my EL and the glue was left behind so had to try and get rid of it.

I tried acetone, turps and steel wool all with crap results, then i sprayed on the 'spray and wipe' and it worked a treat.

Try using a hair dryer to heat up the sticker/ glue. It should soften it & make it easier to remove.

The old Big Kev Goo remover stuff works miracles on stubborn adhesives. Great stuff.

Metho or Turps.

I wet a rag with Turps, and rub on the Rego Stickers. It doesn't do anything to the tint, and once you get rid of the smell, you don't even know you have used it.

I haven't tried Eucalyptus oil, however I have no doubts that it would work also.

thanks to everyone now ill have to try them all until one works...

anyways on the same sort of note about a year ago when i first got my falcon and being the best looking one in town (only 2 within a 100km radius - mine and another) some beeping beep put super glue down my RHR door and as u know it glued the door shut and idiot my hits it with a fire hose - water and super glue only speeds the drying process..... i was able to open the door again after a week of destroying paint and clear coat with turps/kero/diluted thinners and replacing some of the rubber
anyways all that is left is some on the side skirt which i gave up and touch up painted over the top
last week i got at it with a razor and it just took the paint off

for future reference how do i remove super glue?
oh theres still some its glued the rubber attached to the car

mate ive got the same problem, but on the gf's car. She just off her p's and the red "p" is stuck to the window.

Ill have a go tomorrow with the mentioned stuff above.

I use a heat gun to soften the sticker, then warm soapy water and peel away.
Once the sticker is removed i then use prepsol or metho to clean off the left over goo.

Another vote for eucalytus oil. I use it every year to remove the rego label crud before the next one goes on.

Spray n Wipe is out
Turps and kero may take more time but not working atm
and replacing the windscreen is definently out of the picture
gotto go buy some eucalyptus oil and prepsol and paint thinner

The best way to remove super glue is with an ice block, don't laugh it's what we use on the V8 super cars.
