I know where that is, id say no because of its remoteness! But if it has its own exchange with available ADSL ports then chances are pretty good. Providing you live with in the maximum distance from the exchange (distance as the cable lays)
If you are unlucky enough to have pair gains system then you can request to be removed from it but good luck and if your request is accepted then ...hmm that might be 2 years from now. The Government has given Austar and associated companies a grant to sort out rural oz with wireless broadband over 750.000 homes over the next 1.5 years.

Rural? Durack, you sure you got the right place Vegabass. Durack in Southwest Brisbane near inala
I cant see why he couldnt have broadband, just tell him to keep hassling Telstra (he should be within 2/3km of an exchange where he is). They are idiots at telstra- They told me i couldnt have ADSL, then they said they would check it out if i put an order in, they then lost the order and it eventually took 6 weeks to sort it out- but i did end up getting my broadband after they told me i couldnt have it originally

You can get Metro Wireless in the Durack/Inala area. Visit www.iburst.com.au
You don't need a phone line with Metro, just an iburst modem that connects to your PC via USB and it picks up the signal from the closest tower. Geoff

I dislike suburb bashing. There is nothing wrong with Durack. And I can not see why they are unable to get ADSL. They should, it is not remote.

Im in a semi rural acerage estate heading towards beaudesert and I have ADSL. Durack is a built up suberb like any other suberb, so I would say they would have access to broadband or ADSL.
