Default Oh happy day .. foggy!

All the SS/XR owners were looking out the window this morning around Bendigo and salivating ... foggy weather meant they could drive about proudly displaying their fog-lights, without fear from other drivers or Mr.Plod!! Oh happy day!!

Seriously, good to see foggies out-and-about today .. better than a couple of morons I came across driving with high-beams on trying to see better! WTF??

[BTW: I think I need foggies on my car too .. I think I've moved into a consistent fog zone? ]

Rod.

Is it illegal to have your foggies on under normal condition over there?

no, in victoria it isnt.

also just to be picky SS's dont have fog lights, they are driving lights, so they can actually make foggy conditions worse with the lights on

I'm sure we've all gone thru this arguement before, but if SS's are using these as driving lights they are pretty low to be very useful ..

They are Foglights, thats how they are wiredup and thats what the symble on the dash says.

Same as they always have been...

Even my dads VS had a foglight symbol on the dash.

Australian Road Rules - rule 217, subsection 1 - fog lamps may only be illuminated in fog or "atmospheric conditions where visibility is at a minimum".

Delightfully vague definition you have to deal with there. I was under the impression real foglights had a yellow tint so as not to reflect like highbeams. That would make SSs and XR8s lights driving lights. If you want real foglights you need a S13 Silvia or MX6. :P

And that condition is normally in the car after a heavy night on BBQ'd Chili.

fog lights can be yellow or white lights. The difference between fog lights and driving lights is:

fog lights are switched independately of your lights, parkers, low and high beam

driving lights are wired in such a way that they can only be illuminated when high beam is activated, therefore both the xr falcons and SS commodores are fog lights.

Both fog and driving lights can get other road users most upset, although fog lights generate many more threads than driving lights
