Cheers, well the offer still stands re front bumper.

Out of curiosity I googled that book, looks like they’ve got a 3rd version out which is available at reasonable price…. Just bought one.

Well I've carried a truck muffler on the train before so a chrome bumper will be a cake walk.

Trying these Russian herbal sleeping pills on “recommendation” (cue that joke about men always having the last word). Think they’re mostly valerian, although regular valerian does little for me. Really knock you out! All it says on the packet is “здоровый сон” which translates as “healthy sleep”.

Will be interesting to see if I can tweak the dosage and/or dosing time to wake up at a better hour.

You might end up growing a single eyebrow.

Have you tried something as simple as coffee at night, yeah, I know most stay awake but coffee is like tryptophan for me.

Coffee at night sends me to sleep, too. The drawback is waking up somewhere between 12:30-2:30 out of need to visit the loo.

“Skype is retiring in May 2025”

Skype, whose utter disregard for user privacy around ten years ago, potentially harmed many people and businesses. Essentially they shared peoples’ contacts with other parties with whom there was a third party association as “people you might know”. So - salespeople had their clients being effectively told who other clients were, psychologists’ patients were given big hints about who else might be seeing the same psych, it was chaos and they pretty much shrugged it off. Around the same time they crippled functionality if you didn’t let them access your address book. Of course many changes were walked back, but it came too late - other messaging and calling options took off.

Plus the well-documented issues with Skype numbers and credit for Skype calls. People alleging they’d been debited without permission, others couldn’t get refunds, all sorts of nonsense.

Skype - enjoy your retirement; you’ve soon all the time in the world to go **** yourself.

Yuki Tsunda finally getting promoted to the Red Bull. Liam Lawson didn't do enough last year to warrant that promotion.

I went fourteen hours between doses of painkillers today. After having some high speed extractions early last week (two wisdom teeth out in <20 minutes because the dentist figured speed was a good counter to my anxiety) it’s been a world of hurt. I was stuffing up jobs, having near-misses on the road, couldn’t make up parts lists…

Finally settling down over the last 24H; I suffer from “dry socket” (not the sort that’s resolved with K-Y ) and this prolongs the discomfort in healing. It’s been nice to have longer chains of cohesive thought today, and to sleep longer than three hours at a stretch.

Hit a major milestone on my deadlift Monday. I don't get psyched about much, but I was pretty flaming rapt.
Was gonna hit it 5 years ago, then Covid hit and set me back. It has taken me a lot of time and training to surpass my previous best and then smash it.

Cause I go there every morning (almost) on way to work and on the weekends, they just kept charging me the same, long after the offer ended.
Call it a loyalty reward. That's how I look at it anyway.

Thought I'd share this as well...

This

fig tree was dead as dead. It was just a stick with only the minutest amount of green on the tips here and there. So I have been religiously (read: the way DFB FGXR6keeps his lawn mowers clean) watering it every morning for about 30 seconds. Settle, it's a small pot.

So i feel really good that I saved it.
