Hi everyone
For a old 60s/70s viscount van that still has rego plate but doesn’t have chassis number or the rego paper can’t be found how would you go about getting the chassis number or a replacement chassis number for the old rego number on the van if particular one hasent been registered in a lot of years Can you just make up your own chassis number for the rego number or get a vin number for it or is there a way to get hold of the chassis number for it if it has one Thanks |

Your best bet would be to contact your local Dept of Transport or Police station.

You'll probably need to take it to a local police station for inspection and then the police will issue you with a new vin which you'll then need to get stamped on the chassis. the transport department and police department will communicate with each other to book it in. |
