This is it for me. All original, 99% rust free, straight 6 with carby and points. Great solid cruiser, runs like a dream and most importantly the kids love it!

The flying boats were in jest... sort of
The other passion has far fewer moving parts and is so much easier to store, and cheaper to maintain... classic surfboards. One wave at Winkipop at speed on a mid 1970s 'rainbow' Hot Buttered by Terry Fitzgerald - omg. The airbrushes on them are works of art. The things have straight line speed modern boards can't match, at least for the mug punter who isn't a pro. And yes they are getting valuable so you gotta try not to break the 45 year old foam and glass... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sh_s5n16cuo

I have a weird obsession about the De Tomaso Pantera.
I'm not sure why but I regularly watch YouTube vids of them even though I'll never have one? |

The W116 280S has a special place in my heart. It was my first ever ride in an S-class. I hope to be able to own one some day.

Yep 280s with the solex carb. Even though they were the most manufactured in the W116 Range, in Australia they aren’t too common, SE and SELs are everywhere. And no electrics to deal with anywhere!!!!!!!

Too many to mention. But an L-88 is always hovering around in my mind when similar questions are asked.

Actually in this position in USA !
I eyed off three cars in advance. Ford Explorer Dodge Durango Nissan Pathfinder I actually just put them in price order (If shopping for 2012-1014 awd) A key determining factor was - can I get young 6'8 son in the back ! The Ford and the Dodge are prettier. Atlanta is a GM stronghold, so the market was small (As are the GM medium SUVs - Suburban and Expedition are a bit too big ... and expensive for my age preference) I think my preference would have been the Durango, as it was the only rwd/awd. As it turned out, the best in my price range was the Nissan - Mainly because Americans are afraid of CVTs. |

Thanks KW In the garage under my townhouse, in a gated community, near a lesser known retail area. The Governor, Mayor and Police chief acted quickly here using The national guard ... there was only 1 or two bad days, and only one 'unrest' event near me, and it was truly a 'peaceful protest' |

Yeah FTE217, you've got it, you're in the right place! We also have a couple of Lazor Zaps - I find them a pretty extreme board and I have to surf it back to back for about a week to surf it well (probably the furthest in performance a single fin design can go, if you want to carve in and around the pocket) but my kids find the Zap pretty easy to ride. McCoy is both outspoken and also right! If you want performance, place the area back. Smooth curves... We've got Brothers Neilsens, G&S, the super fast HB's, Zaps, and one of Simon's original 1981 '3 fin' Thrusters. That board is special, it makes accessing performance very easy, it is stable, is very forgiving in critical spots, can go fast, opens up backhand surfing performance, has enough paddle too. There's a reason that most board have 3 fins these days... I guess I would have gotten into cars way more if I didn't have this interest. Edit: Here's some Cheyne footage, surfing McCoy Lazor Zaps late '70's/early 80's. These things were possibly the most extreme shape ever used in competition, and what he could do was next-level. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBq9lq0orv8 And bonus: the great MP, Michael Peterson, surfing Winki: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DluuPTJNs3E PS - how good are Falcon sedans after the EB?! You can fold the rear seats down and they become an honourary wagon for your boards
