That's the problem with electric and solar stuff... How big is the roof of this car you plan to power itself with!?
Like these deluded solar diehards getting the overly generous 60c/kwh rebate from the government and they never get a power bill.. So they think they are generating more power than they are using in their home!

Phrasing was a bit poor - power the solar car off the roof of your property, not the roof of the car itself.
Hey you can stay ICE as well if you like, algal diesel, algal ethanol - "liquid sunlight", portable chemical fuel for very long distances, not a cent to the oil sheiks either.

I was simply pointing out that it would need a roof the size of a small factory unit to power anything automotive.

Less skill required to push the go pedal in an electric car. More fun to balance revs, accelerator position, change gears etc. in a piston powered car.

Old mate pretended to be genuinely surprised that an AWD electric car could get off the line like that. I'd rather see a roll on when they're both hooked up, although I imagine the Tesla would lose and that wasn't the point of this video.

And then there's the Hellcat.

Those hellcats are awesome. But that one needed drag slicks to get the 11 second qtr mile. Tesla with ludicrous upgrade does it 10.9 with stock tyres.
But the Tesla is a lot more money than the hellcat. |
