Default Led light bars

Hi

With the led light bars and driving lights with a maximum of four driving lamps (including LED light bars) can be fitted to a vehicle in addition to the vehicle’s main beam headlamps. Does the 4 maximum include drls

Could you have a pair of fog lamps which is 2 and a led light bar and drls,

Does the driving lamp include drls or just driving/fog lamps

What are sa rules on led light bars

The ADR's or the NCOP for vehicle modifications (both of which are in the Tech portal) will provide your answer but:

1. You may have up to 4 driving lamps in addition to the headlamps.
2. You may additionally have two fog lamps.
3. You may additionally have two DRL's

An LED light bar is considered to be a pair of lamps (ADR 13 S2.16.1).

Cheers

When you say yes you can does that mean one led bar a pair of fog lamps and a pair of drls fitted

Is it 4 including drls or are drls not included or can you still fit the bar a pair of fog lamps and a pair of drls

How about you read Post #2 again - it clearly states what you can and can't have.

One LED bar = two driving lamps and you are allowed four thus you can have 1 x LED bar and 1 pair of driving lamps plus one pair of DRL's plus a pair of fog lamps.

I trust that clarifies it for you.

Mate, have you even tried looking for yourself?

I'm sure if you have a Google, you'll fine what you're looking for.

It will depend on the pattern they are designed for but if they are driving lamp or pencil type spreads then the same rules apply to them as to driving lamps.

Probably not but only by two lamps. Mind you the NCOP is harsh on high mounted lamps - you'd get away with them for 'off road' use as long as they were independently switched - which I suspect they are.

Cheers

Calm down guys it's still confusing......these days you can get led light bars of all sizes. Some setups are one long led bar......others are medium to rectangle, square and short single bars where you'd mount one each side replacing the older spotlight setups.

So if you buy a car with headlights plus it has DRLs......and foggies........you can then fit two long led light bars or four smaller led light bars. As for the rest of the sizes, that would be confusing

Yeh Russ, 2 switches for roof lights. Others come on with high beam ONLY when they are switched on.
I'm in tassie so not sure if the same laws apply to me? We are pretty backwards over here LOL

Any off road light or roof lights are legal for off road use only, these lights should have covers on them if vehicle is driven on roads otherwise you could be fined.

Fitted a 52" roof mounted dual row flood/spot led light bar to the jeep the other day. Throws out awesome light. Independent switch for offraod. I drive a lot of dirt tracks late at night. Roo city out here. Amazing how many roos I see now that I never even knew existed before. Cops here are sensible and pragmatic, they know its needed for safety. They only get a bit bent out of shape if the roof lights are wired into the high beams.

That looks great. I'm trying to convince my bro to go a full light bar like this on his unlimited jeep. but he's not realized the world has moved on from big round spotties . Pretty sure his current bulbar mounted spotties are linked to his high beam tho!

As mentioned above tho.....I've NEVER seen a cover for an led light bar yet.....do they not need them?
