They've improved the centre console, although it should be different to the Falcon, and always was in the "good old days". Don't tell me the LTD doesn't have different wheels from the Fairlane now?

if you look closer the LTD has a few more spokes, but yeah same design,

I guess I'm in the minority when it comes to not liking that gloss black finished center consol - it looks cheap and tacky. They could of used piano black burr walnut or something like you would see in a Jag or Merc.

I like the lighter shade cream leather, although I wished they did the same with the dashboard and doors like the previous Medium Stone/Charcoal two tone treatment.

As for the outside, well the chrome strip across the boot looks better - although the two tone paint treatment doesn't do anything for me.

lets do a quick comparo...
from HOLDEN
statesman (56k [190kw v6], 61k [245kw v8]):--
• Soft and luxurious leather seating
• Dual zone electronic climate control
• 6 disc in-dash CD player with 10 speaker elements
• Rear parking sensors
• Stylish 16 inch alloy wheels
• LED rear tail lamps

caprice (75k [250kw v8], 70k [190kw v6])
• Sports body kit
• Distinctive 17 inch alloy wheels
• Soft and luxurious leather seating
• Holden Assist
• Dual zone electronic climate control
• DVD player with 2 LCD screens with remote control and headphones
• 6 disc in-dash CD player
• Tyre pressure monitoring
• Front and rear parking sensors

and lets not forget the HSV versions (SENATOR and GRANGE) with 297kw of LS2 grunt!!!
versus
from FORD
un-inventive p0s....

anyhow xr would be plenty of luxury for me, why bother with a LTD.

The Current Shape Caprices is a downright cool vehicle. Grange is just the same with a bigger Engine. Id have a HSV grange anyday over a LTD. SOrry ford, as i said looks ok, but hte Grange is better.

spend a few grand on the LTD ( dollars wise it would be the same as the grange once youve spent the cash on the LTD)
ford are saving their **** by not bringing out a FPV LTD - it simply wouldnt "sell"
sure they could lease ithem to company execs but the cost of setting them up isnt justified.

- how many granges do haitch ess vee actually shift a month? couldnt be too many... and i bet there all leased

I wonder how much R&D budget would be required for fitment of a Boss into the LWB models... surely the only possible component change would be the tailshaft? Everything else would be straight bolt-on/in from the XR8 or GT!! This includes suspension!

Seriously, even if they were to run such a model through the most rigorous of development processes, it really wouldn't take much to pass. Hell - they could pop a few mules out straight off the production line as it is right now, and kick things off... it's not like they have to actually build anything new, it's only a matter of simple assembly... :

See a few Granges around the city, but then again, outside work (harbour end of George Street near the Four Seasons), you see some seriously nice metal every day of the week. Todays was a black RS6 Audi, the guy saw me checking out the car, and obliged by giving it a fair bootful from the lights. :
