I watched the show late last night and didn't really get too excited about all the econocars. Monroe is certainly a looker and should do well.
But where was the XR6T? GT or any other FPV product? The flagship G6ET? Aren't they still on sale, the premium and performance models in the current range? If that wasn't a snub to FoA and it's world class range, I don't know what is. No wonder the Aussie dealers were quiet, how could they be without at least an acknowledgment of our Ford hero cars from the Americans? An absolute disgrace. Mike

I think I read somewhere there was talk that Europe would not get this new series I Mondeo, but go straight to series II as the intro model (And by default so would Australia). |

G'day.
New here and have just been reading this thread. Excellent reading. I for one can not wait for the FH to arrive, I'm already getting the money together to buy an XR8/GS and have an expression of interest in at the local Ford dealer. |

But it's changing by the week though as to what the line up will be. XR8 Sprint was looking good but I think that has now changed back to GT. I'd assume the Falcon GT will replace the FPV GT. Just assumptions. Quote:

Can't believe Ford has taken this long to release a competitor to Prado etc..and still at least another 18 months away, even if Everest is a great car. So many lost potential sales last 5 years or more...and no detail to keep non 'Ford loyal' buyers interested. Bit like diesel Territory, way too late. Ford = excellent cars-bad timing.

I was all for the XR8 making a comeback, now it seems like a waste. Why not just rebadge the XRs as an ST and be done with it.

I don't think the intercooled versions will ever see the light of day. Too much money in engineering the firewall to handle the torque of the thing, not to mention the rear end too.
It's a shame, apparently the GT-H was going to have a an exclusive Vermillion Fire colour only available on that model, just like Moffats HO. |

Interesting. I have a theory about that. I speculated the other day that the "XR8 Sprint" thing was a deliberate leak, a hedge by Ford to test whether the market would "miss" the GT if they didnt bring one out for the last Falcon.

You can already get a GT HO in a unique colour
Just costs $150k more, but still has a 375kw 5.0 Supercharged V8 and looks damn near identical to the FG.....

I know Jag has not been part of the Ford family for some time, but I've always thought the Jag XFS was the reason there was no GT HO. Their development paths have been very similar, including the supercharged 5.0. And they look damn near identical.

Only problem is they wouldn't be allowed to sell them. You know, Euro VI and all

When I look at the snap shots of the new Falcon, the headlight and grill shape seems to resemble the current Taurus SHO front to me.
