Default Vents in front quarter panels.

I passed a new VZ red Maloo ute yesterday that had the vents in the front quarter panels. Even though I dislike holdung I love the vents on the side, they look awesome. I hope Ford do something like that in the future.

If you've seen them how do you rate those vents, I love em.

Honesty, I hate them. They make the car look cheap. Most good looking cars are designed as a "whole"; everything looks like it was meant to be there. Those vents look like a nasty afterthought ... might as well drill a few Buick "portholes" in the side and install a straight-8.

But then, if we al like the same thing it would be a very boring place wouldn't it?

Rod.

It looked like Holden needed to freshen up the body afterall it dates back to 97!! I agree with you guys - it looks cheap and nasty with no purpose other than rice factor

What about the vents on the sides of XB/XC 2 doors?

For that matter nearly all skirts wings and spoilers on road cars, have no purpose other then looking good.

They just "ornamentation" and trim to mark the hi-po models, otherwise every car would look the same.

Yep .. so they end up looking like my SV8 .. all function / no form (except for the boot spoiler which is a convenient place to put the center brake light )

yeah they serve no purpose, however i do like the ones on the VZ HSV..... they look a little less plastic (supercheap) than the standard VZ SS ones. Same as the monaro bonnets, those nostrels are blocked, usless... my mate fitted one to his VT and he modified it so they put air into the engine bay.
