Default Does anyone know what this is?

I went to a clearing sale and bought a bunch of tools and equipment and these were in a container. If anyone can id them that would be great.

Looking at the colour of it I'd have guessed something to do with welding, perhaps some sort of tool to hold the steel in place while getting a tack weld on it ??

looks like a dodgy plate lifter - you clamp these to a sheet of plate steel and hook a crane on the other end, but there's no ring for a crane hook and it looks too small

Yeh its quite small the main block is just over 70mm and with the swing thing on the end goes out to just under 105mm

Yep definitely looks like some sort of plate steel clamp, wouldnt be a earth lead clamp for a arc welder as you dont need two set screws to make contact.
