Hi all, I bought a 1969 XW GT not that long a go and it has had the engine replaced at some stage. she is ment to have a 351 windsor but has now got a 302 clevo from a XD. Just wanting to know if there is any way of tracking it down. any help would be great.

as above, you have the Vin number so you have the engine number it will just be a lucky dip from now on

I immediately thought of this website I found and bookmarked a few years ago;
www.matchingnumbers.com.au Genius idea but unfortunately doesn't seem to be still operating. It was an online database of engines looking for the original car & cars looking for their engine. |

I'm in the same situation. Last I heard my nice JG33 block had a blower sitting on top of it in a speed boat somewhere in NSW. :-(

The guy i bought the car from had the car for over 25 years. he gave me the name of the guy that had it before him but sadly he has past away.

Try tracing the 302 clevo it may point to the Mechanic that did the changover, just a thought
