These finish today - I only just heard about them! Remember that show Terra Nova (was on Channel 10)? If you don't - it's not surprising, nobody watched it and thats why its been cancelled. So - if you're in the market for some weird futuristic off road vehicles  then take a look here.The prices aren't that high - given that the auction ends this evening. Anything here worth considering?

Look like pretty useful vehicles!!...
Actually the 6x4 landcruiser looks real mean from the front! I'd like to drive that around and scare slow drivers! Should make them get out of the way! |

I watched that show for a while, missed the second half of the season. Got very boring. The vehicles would be fun to drive around on weekends.
Wonder what the body panels are made of. Probably wood or plastic.

Wow. I didn't realise Terra Nova was made in Australia. I've only just gotten around to watching Farscape for the first time. All the Australian accents are mesmerising. I was living overseas when it was first shown. I think it was playing in the US while I was living there but I never paid any attention to it.
There was a HUGE Stargate auction a year or so ago as well, when SG:U was finally cancelled, ending a 17-or-so year production run from when 'McGyver' first joined Stargate - but that was made in Vancouver in Canada. The critical review of Terra Nova on Wikipedia mentioned that it was great at the start of the season, cheesy in the middle, but came good again towards the end. The first season even turned a profit. Why it was cancelled, then, is a mystery. I think the networks are cancelling any show these days that prove popular on the Torrent scene. Some day I'll get around to it.... Lukeyson

It was canceled because it was extremely expensive to produce.

By the way, I watched the show. It wasn't great, but it was entertaining. The last hour was very entertaining. Jason O'Mara was also the star of the ill-fated American version of Life on Mars.

The registration authorities probably have some stupid regulations about not making body panels out of plywood and bog...
 Bit like the awesome Batmobile from the first Batman movie, built on a stretched Chev chassis...apparently the whole body had to be lifted off to get to the engine to work on it, and because it was only slapped together for the filming, once you got over 40mph or so, it got really scarey to drive. Looked awesome though...and totally unlike the "Tumbler" in the new Batman movies, which is the real deal and capable of over 100mph over all sorts of terrain. That's what happens when you let a British film company at something...they don't tart it up to simple outward appearances like Hollywood...they usually make the weird vehicles actually work in real life... |
