Hi all, I have a Samsung LCD TV that is giving me the irits!! Last Saturday it wouldn't turn on, just kept flashing the red light and then clicking and making a popping noise, this kept up for about an hour and a half before finally turning on. Once it did turn on the screen was pale green, so I ran the risk and turned it off and on again and seemed OK.
When I finally got on to Samsung, the woman advised me to turn off some update setting, which I did. TV has worked fine all week, apart from the colours going weird every now and then. Now exactly a week later...same bloody thing again!! The TV is only a year old so should be repaired under warranty. Just wondering though if anyone else has had a fault like this or any experiance dealing with Samsung repairs. I am worried that they are going to tell me it's going to take 6 weeks to repair etc etc. Cheers Bec

If you have the samsung model number you could try searching how to do a hard/factory reset. On some it involves unplugging TV for certain amount of time (eg: 4 hours) and on some you can do through a menu on the TV (might need TV in service mode or something). May or may not work but seems to be a common recommendation on AV forums for samsung tv problems, might be worth a try. To be on the safe side though if doing it through a menu I'd google the model number first just in case it's likely to remove any necessary data, and make sure it's not going to cause any extra problems (TV may have specific settings in order to work for Australia, or might be a nightmare to re-tune etc.).

Good luck with dealing with Samsung if you need to claim under warranty. We had endless problems both with a samsung air conditioner and dealing with samsung. It took us 2 years to get it sorted! Never again will I buy a Samsung product.
