Default Spanish Tuner

Forgive me if this is Bar material, not Pub material but..

A self-proclaimed expert Mitsubishi tuner in Spain has a "special" go at tuning an Eclipse. Hilarity ensues

Make special note of the word "special".

It's well worth it to read all the 52+ pages. The thread has already accumulated over 2 million views, from car clubs all over the world.

Just to sum up some of the ingenious tuning methods that you'll witness (for the lazy readers out there):

hand filing singh grooves into cylinder heads
drilling multiple holes into the flywheel
covering almost every component in cheap, dodgy paint (think bushes, gearbox)
creating a frankenstein clutch (for almost no reason....)
incredibly bad TIG welding.... everywhere
edit: oh and a one piece exhaust

Must be a thing with mitsubishi drivers. :togo: Just a bit of proof that a little bit of knowledge can be dangerous.

I loved that airbox too.

Site was dropping in and out when I looked at it before. I think it must be the 1.3million hits the thread has now got (most in the past few weeks).

I'm surprised the clutch or the flywheel didn't make a break for it up through the dash... anything to escape that car.

I'm just astounded it took the beating of a track day (or atleast a few laps). Lucky Mitsubishi builds it tough, though probably not for this reason.

Awesome thread! Loved how EVERYTHING was painted. What times did it run? That page wouldn't open on my computer.

Went from an (apparently) 14 sec stock time (recorded for other stock cars) to 16 sec e/t. That's some skilled tuning right there.
