I have a couple of 6280s sitting on a bookshelf at home. Both have been back to Nokia for service and repairs. I just keep them there in case I need a spare for whatever reason. But in all honesty I've had a couple of LGs that have been better phones.

Yeah, I had a couple of Samsung CDMA phones a few years back. They were suprisingly good. Very small, light, and robust. Nice loud speakers and ring tones.

The only downside with them was the quality of the finish which scratched very easily. LGs also had this problem.

I've had the SE 610i for about 6 months now, and although it cops a hiding the finish is still scratch-free.

The only downside with the SE candy bar phones is the size of the keys. I've got pretty thick fingers and it took me a while to adjust. Happy now though.

Im not sure what model Samsung you had, but my last Samsung I owned was a D600, and that was an excellent phone for resistance to scratches and marks, except for finger prints.

I did find however, the lower rqange models werent as resistant to the higher end models. Thats just my observation though.

Had a look at the ZTE phones during the week but found them too big and heavy. Actually had a good look at the Ericcson 610i and liked it the best out of most. Being thin and light seems to be the go so glad it got a mention!

I have had flip and slide phones and they just dont seem to last. I would have gone through 10 odd phones over the past year or two. The 610i seems to be the smallest/light as I carry it with me 24 hours.

Nokia 6120C I have 2 of them there was a comment on them switching off and stability issues . well nokia have a firmware update buit into the PC suite and i have both phones updated no issues now. as for service the service centres are actually privately owned AFAIK. the local nokia agent is awesome only hade to use them once in over a dozen phones and theywere a pleasure to deal with

I agree.

I have one and although the battery life is bad it does everything i want.

Its also good for reception in bad coverage areas.

yep dead right, i have a 6280 myself that ive had for 2 years, ive given up on it... been in service about 5 times for software issues... all it does is call and sms which im happy for anyway haha! everything else (video playing, camera, mp3) crashes.
trust me to buy the worst Nokia ever made heheh.

Im hanging out for the N78 - considering the E51 but looks a bit bland to me. the nextg Nokia range is tiny atm! only 3 variants.
And no, I dont want that brick, the N95 :P

I had a Sony S500i, awesome phone! Recently upgraded to a Sony Ericsson K850i. I've been through 13 phones in the past 4 years. Older Nokias were awesome, but they are certainly not built like they used to be. ZTE sucks. Samsungs are reliable, but quite boring, as are LG's. Motorola sucks too. I reckon you should pick either a Nokia or a Sony Ericsson.

Ive had aroung 15 phones in the past 18 months and the best one is the one I currently use, the Nokia 6110 navigator. Easy to operate, easy to SMS and pairs properly to the bluetooth, and damn loud ringer on it! The samsung U700 ****ed me off after 2 days, the S-E K770i was nice, but the buttons too fiddly and too close together. Scratched easy too. As a high end user, i'll stick with Nokia for now.

I had a play with the old-generation one that Australia never officially got. It is great to use, and I will be getting one of the new 3G ones
