i haven't posted for a few days but its great to see the list growing.
With all this sauce, sausage, vine making it also reminded my of the huge vege garden my grandmother had in the back yard. you don't see that much nowadays which is a shame

Normally my nonna makes "il cuore" a heart shaped cake with almond meal and chocolate, coated with chocolate icing.

Unfortunately she hasn't been well the last few months god bless.

hahahahaha...ohh man these ital families are all alike....yes it is strange but i actually believe it works to...they say the our father and other prayers....the more the oil spreads out it in the water the stronger the malocchio.....lol....then the matches are lit and thrown in to kill the malocchio...

im not italian but my ex is, i remember tomato sauce days very well (good days ). i had to learn how to speak italian because everytime he had an argument, she used to go off in italian ( i wanted to understand what she was yelling at me )

a lot of my mates are italian, and me being a chef, i've picked up alot of their cooking skills. man the italians cook the best food

i think you can still find the old style delis in haberfield, leichardt. i think my mates cafe in cammeray sells all the antipasti stuff (maggio's on miller st).

you're making me hungry now

Anyone want to translate an email for me?? I got one the other day and I understand most words but not the whole thing! My Italian is good... but not this good!!
